Practice threading for Distant Skies!

I'll not waste my breath pointing out the utter idiocy of your plans to join this game; such words are, to my way of thinking, trite by virtue of their inevitability. Yes, you - like nearly everyone else - have comparatively limited time. And, of course, you wish to play the martyr over this, agonize and complain, so that others will know just how busy and important you are. I'm not going to enable such self-indulgent behavior.

Rather, I'll merely tell you this: if you think you're so utterly and terribly busy, if you think that you've so little time, then don't waste it further with whining. Instead, make it count. I've no use for someone who will dither rather than be a productive member of society.

You're dodging the question, Miles Edgeworth.

Fine. If your teacher forbid you to go outside your world to look for answers, but you knew staying inside would mean that you wouldn't find them, would you disobey in order to find that truth?

Again, dodging the question.

I don't care about why he would obscure these things from you. If you'd blindly follow someone because you believe that what they're doing is the truth instead of seeking it out for yourself, then you're just playing pawn to someone else's game.

You're being defensive. I'm making a generalized statement about everyone, whether it's your mentor or not. That's how things are. If you blindly follow what anyone says, then you're just being a sheep.

And the word "criminal" holds different requirements in different cities. For instance, in mine, a criminal is someone who merely questions authority and purpose. That's a crime punishable by execution.

Must it only be one extreme or the other? Only black and white?

Then you truly are blind to the real world.

I highly doubt that.

That's none of your business.

That's quite a bit of assuming.

I got tired of being the obedient little girl when my grandfather decided to have me executed in my doctor's office.

My grandfather, the Regent of my city, wanted me dead. He tried to have me killed in my doctor's office where there would be no cameras to convict him of murder.

My crime was speaking against his authority by asking why we weren't allowed to leave the city.
