I know, I know. Sorry, but I can't help it. Just think about it from my perspective? I actually get to do things and see places and maybe even meet some nice people. It won't be that bad, really. It's like getting to go on holiday or something! I know things will be pretty different wherever I go, but I think I'm ready for it. I won't embarrass you, promise!

It's like Master always used to say: "Life is just a house full of locked doors and you have all the keys. So don't be stupid and unlock the wrong ones, idiot." [She laughs a bit, ears twitching.] I think it's supposed to be encouraging.

[thoughtful pause] ...The "idiot" part was probably just for me, though.

[She doesn't respond at first.] ...Sure! He was a great Master really, he taught me so much even though he was such a busy man. He was so busy he never even had time to make his own bed.

[Although she's pretty sure he didn't care about making it anyway.]

[He's just so happy talking about masters. Don't mind him. Masters are the best ever in all of the world...]

I spent half of my life with him. [Her excitement dies down a little, but she's still smiling.] I was lucky, I think. He did a lot more for me than I could ever do for him.

[He can't even imagine if Oz was gone, so he feels all the sympathy for you right now, since he can only assume that your master has passed on...]

I don't think opening all the doors without knowing what's behind is encouraging. It's stupid.

Well, but how do you know what's behind all the doors? No one can see into the future like that.

Oh, well, then sure! I guess you should probably have an idea of what you think is behind the door before you open it, but that's what Master meant by not opening the wrong ones. I think, anyway. He didn't usually explain what he meant when he said things like that.

But then there are times when you just have to go for it. You can't wait around until until the door tells you what's behind it.

It's probably a metaphor. [laugh] He was a Keymaster after all. He didn't need a real key to unlock anything.

Oh, well, I don't know. I've seen quite a few people try, but they didn't really like it after a while. Maybe you could fine a Master yourself and ask them to train you. It's not easy, but you'll learn really fast.

He didn't really say... That's probably the test in his lesson. Because we don't know which is the wrong one, so we have to be sure we believe we're opening the right one.

Hmm..well since it's a metaphor....dragons. Or living corpses or fleshing eating ants or a stone wall for me to run into. [These are all horrible things in her mind.]

Master used to say that to me when I was doing something rather stupid, so he maybe he meant I shouldn't do stupid things because once you open a door like that you tend to find you don't like what's behind it.

But you can also find something really amazing, so who knows?

Oh, I guess that's true. But you wouldn't know until you tried, and it might be amazing, like you said.

I guess, like I said to someone else, it's about believing it's the right door. If you pick a door you don't think is a good one, then it'll turn out badly no matter what. But if you believe in it, maybe it will work out in the end, anyway.

It wouldn't hurt to unlock some wrong ones, I think. That way you'd at least know what's behind them, right?

Hm...maybe you're right. But you have to be careful, I think. What if like, a dragon is behind of them? If it eats you, then it was probably not a good door.
