Listen Mundane, I'm not so sure you picking me up again is really a good idea. I mean, what's a wolf going to do in a game? Us animals really don't have anything to contribute so you should just forget it.

Besides that, we haven't seen Mei anywhere you go. I'm worried about him. What if some other predator decides to have him for lunch while I'm gone?

[Oh, talking wolves don't bother him any more than singing fish or orange moustache people! Apart from the teeth. He'll just... sidle forwards on his tiptoes, really awkwardly.]

I wouldn't be so sure animals can't contribute. Ever thought about a musical career? That might give you a leg up.

[Blinking. He's not too familiar with dealing with human beings, since he's an ordinary wolf.]

Yeah, like - sometimes you just gotta sell it with a charm! Sometimes a good song is all you need to get people interested.

[Other times it gets tomatoes thrown at you, but he will strategically leave that part out.]

[Laughs.] Well, sure, birds sing - but what I mean is...

Well, if you're thinking of something to do to persuade people you're worth having around, sometimes you just have to find something you're good at, and make it work!

[He is not very good at understanding animals. Or at listening. Or at being dissuaded. There are a lot of things he is not good at.]

I wasn't trying to. I just want to find my friend Mei and make sure he's okay.

Besides I'm only good at eating anyway.

At least you're set if you're ever in an eating contest.

I'm not so sure. There's a lot for a little goat to get in trouble with.

Eating contest?

Goat? [Short pause.] Huh. Well, good luck finding him, then, I guess.

Uh, heh, I was joking about the eating contest. But maybe there's one out there. [He hurriedly takes something out of his pocket and... holds it way out at arm's length.] You can have a marshmallow, though!

I guess you haven't seen him then.

[Poking it with a claw.] What's it for?

[Shakes his head, then flinches at the prodding.] No, I... No. Sorry!

It's for eating! [Which, he is quickly convincing himself, was a bad topic to bring up.] Go on, try it. [He squidges it lightly a few times between finger and thumb and grins unconvincingly.]

Well no one else has, that's why I worry someone may have eaten him.

[Least he's not prodding you.] It doesn't feel like any food I've seen. [Sniffing and then licking it.]

Somehow I really doubt that - oh. [He accidentally drops the marshmallow. Oh well.] It's better if you actually, you know, chew it. Lick it and it doesn't really taste of anything.
