My, my. Just champing at the bit, aren't you?
Eagerness is endearing in small doses but quite unattractive in excess.
Wouldn't want to make any poorly-thought out wishes, now would you?

OH LOOK the AU baby is awake.
Amazing. Neat character! Jareth appreciates his hair <3
Thank you!
Honestly, it should be no trouble to find something to do with you. I'm sure you're aware of the saying, "The person who is bored is boring."

But you're right, the human is very dull and bored.

And I'm sure you're just bustling with trying to rule over the kingdom. You're a font of boundless energy and enthusiasm for keeping everything running and sparkling.

No special animosity. I regard her the way I do all humans. Or most humans, anyway.
My dear boy, it is very rude of you to make personal remarks. [His eyes flash and he grins.] What sort of animals raised you?
no subject
I was only raised by the most lovely human in all of the kingdoms and realms, and the most wild of beasts who deigns call himself King. [His own smirk reflects Jareth's. Oh, they can be at this all day.]
no subject
Any good King must be at least partly beast. At least of this kingdom, or else one couldn't keep certain elements in line.
Don't worry. Keep at it, my lad, and you may find that part of yourself one day. Your teeth are already showing.
[Yes they could. Thank goodness they're alone - they must be intolerable together for other people.]

[His smile goes toothy. Praise isn't a small gift from Jareth, he knows, and is often hidden under bluster and self-congratulatory pomp, but it means the world to him all the same. He tosses his hair and squares his shoulders, looking all the more like a preening crow.]
Beastliness is only one facet of a many-sided shining crystal, one which will gleam in time. I'm polishing the other portions first; nobody needs a rude guttersnipe, hm?
[Or, his mother often reminds him, one too much like his father. The reason for succession is growth, not more of the same.]
no subject
[Yup, Jareth is here for all of your emotionally-distant, praise-stingy Dad needs.]
Absolutely not. I've told you before that you disrespect our subjects at your peril, little prince. That's how mortals stumble in and don't come out - they fall prey to greed or pride or rudeness with creatures bigger and nastier than they are.
no subject
One must only play the mirror to the worse elements of our subjects, to bring them to glory or ruin. I understand. But I still find it foul to assume that just because they have overcome their flaws in the short term, that our lessons stick through til the end. Do you ever do any follow-up on these subjects of yours?
no subject
I rarely do. The ones who need the lessons have learned by now that if they step out of line with their flaws, they don't get a second chance with me.
And one needn't reflect those worse elements with every subject. It depends on the being. Some require the utmost tact and courtesy. [Which yes, before you comment, Jareth is actually capable of.]
no subject
And to which beings would you be showing that courtesy, were they to come unbidden to you?
no subject
[ He looks familiar. Why does he look familiar? ]
no subject
He takes a few steps toward her. Not tentative, because the Goblin King was never tentative, but to get a better look at her.]
My, my. You're right. You know all about not taking things for granted now, don't you?
