even though the mun hasn't seen the latest season...
Hello, hello! Thought I heard someone calling out. Just took me a moment to get moving. Young face, old bones; you know how it is. But what's the buzz? What have I missed?
...oh, I see. That is different.
[Is it?]
Maybe. Possibly. It's always a bit different. Still, four limbs, one head, not ginger... the more things change, eh?
[He almost gets sad there, for a second. Almost.]
So! Time for both of us to start catching up. Come on. Let's shake the dust off!
((OOC: I'm okay with Bill or any other characters from season 10 responding, but please refrain from dropping any specific spoilers. Vague allusions are A-okay.))

I can't say I've ever seen a ginger root with four limbs before.
...or a head.

'Ginger,' though. That's twenty-first-century-ish Earth talk for redheads. I'm going to take a wild guess you're from somewhere else.

We have redheads here. But we just call them...redheads.

I think that's what it's called. I could be wrong. Common isn't my first language.

Just 'Earth,' at least in my neck of the multiverse. Been a while since the dimensions did any rotating.

I love the stories about it, though.
[Which would be your cue, Mister Not Ginger.]

[Is he teasing her now? Probably. Is he having actual trouble picking just one? Also probably.]

[She may be bouncing up and down a little, like an overly-excited puppy.]
Tell me one about a great victory.

Once upon a time on Earth, a thing fell from out of the sky — thinking about it, a lot of my stories are going to start that way. I might skip it in future.
Barely anyone noticed the thing, because there was a war on, and things were falling out of the sky all the time. Usually the falling things would explode, but this one didn't. It'd come from somewhere else, y'see, and it was full of nanogenes — little programmed micro-organisms that only want to help. Can fix anyone, so long as they have the DNA mapping.
The nanogenes had never seen a human before. First one they found was a child — a dead child, which was the only type of child they wouldn't have been able to fix. But they tried to be clever, the little nanogenes. Tried to learn what they could about this type of life they'd never seen before. But as so often happens with first tries, they got it wrong.
[There's a brief pause there, a breath's space for her to get a word in edgewise, if she has any questions or reactions so far.]

But the rest of it is a little harder...]
DNA?
What's DNA?

...is that a trick question?

He could be a bit of a brat.

I wouldn't mind our paths crossing again. At least, I imagine I wouldn't. If the next new me is anything like... well, me.

Yeah, but he wears it better, doesn't he? Still, glad to see you've kept that energy up between faces. Hate to see you slow down just 'cause you've swapped your trainers for a bow tie.
no subject
[A teasing smile.]
Though now I have to wonder why this hasn't happened to you before. Unless it has and you've just gone and forgotten to mention it.
[As per usual.]
no subject
[So there.]
...but no. This is a new one. I always knew it was possible. Only I never got 'round to it.
no subject
[Fixes his bowtie even though it technically doesn't need fixing.]
Though I'd think that maybe your people could have come up with a better name than Time Lord if you were all going to swap genders on occasion.

Took you long enough spaceman.
