This is stupid
This is what you do when you're thrust from my world before you're ready!? Don't you have other things to be doing? Like sleeping? You're not even familiar enough with Eorzean speech to do this yet.
Oh, and speaking of resting, I'm somewhere safe! So enough of that worrying, already. I may not have been able to reach a bed to retire but you definitely can. So, go!
[She makes shooing motions at the fourth wall.] Go! ...Gods, how did I wind up with such a foolish player?

I'm not antagonizing. She was being ridiculous, and I'm not even afraid of her.

[Yuma tilts his head at her.]
... Are you some kind of dragon, by the way?
no subject
[And then comes the dragon question. She takes a startled step back. Sure, this guy looks half-dragon, himself, but in her childhood that was usually the preface to a lot of suspicion and sometimes cause to run and hide behind the nearest hired blade. Never mind that nowadays she would be said hired blade...]
Um. I know I look it! But I'm not, I swear it! I'm an Au Ra, and we just happen to be a bit scaly!

[He smiles. It looks weird with the cracks on his face, but.]
You don't need to be afraid. I won't hurt you.
no subject
What are you? You asked if I'm a dragon, are you one?
[She's never actually seen any up close at all...but she's pretty sure they're shaped very, very differently from a normal person.]

[Vivid eyes are amused as one hand taps thoughtfully against her chin. Y'shtola isn't at all surprised to see an Au Ra here - she's more uncertain of some of these other species that she's heard of.]
Still, the amount of time that they can end up devoting to us can be rather...unhealthy, shall we say? Or perhaps merely concerning, at least from our point of view.
Sorry, work killed my RP drive for a bit there
[She trails off with a gesture of her hands before picking up the train of thought again.]
...Well, then you find yourself in some strange territory. That question leads to others like "Are our parents really our parents?", "Were we ever actually children?", and argh... [She holds a hand to her head.] It's giving me a headache already!
I like to think of my player as someone connected to me through the Echo somehow, it makes these things so much easier. Unlike...all of this. [She accompanies it with a vague gesture at their surroundings. How does one fourth wall without addressing the fourth wall?]

Not a one! But mine's the only player I know. Do you think all of them are like that, that it's just the way players are?

[Lost connection to Eorzea, of course. Not thinking too hard about how said connection was established. But... Wait a minute...]
That could be it - they decide, or feel, or somehow realize they're not done?
no subject
Mine just decided she wanted to keep on exploring with me- and so here we are. It… actually sounds somewhat reasonable, put that way.
no subject
[...A pause. She's griping about it, but griping won't actually change anything, will it?
In fact, understanding dawns in her expression and she's suddenly animated, talking about twice as fast and clearly straight from her stream of consciousness.]
Wait a- I'm going about this the wrong way, actually. I should be thinking about it this way - there is so much more out there! Adventures to have, people to meet, places to find... I mean, she doesn't have time for something like her others, but that just opens it up all the wider! Right, am I right?
no subject
I agree! There's certainly plenty of opportunities to meet people- from different realms, even, it still seems incredible to me! [and another nod] You're freer to be… looser would be the word, I think.
no subject
"Looser"? [She frowns for a split second of thought, and comes up empty. Aggressively avoiding the fourth wall means using as little meta-knowledge as possible.] With what?
no subject
Ah- well, we've been around for a while. But everything didn't necessarily take that long… So it's a little of where you are for some this non-game business, and- I suppose how, say, I'd remember Little Ladies' going… That makes sense, I hope.
no subject
[The problem with that is it makes communication on a point difficult - hopefully she understood properly.]
no subject
[by which she largely means 'gives her a headache'.]
But it's- rather when you are, if that makes sense…
[that's probably my bad, really.]
no subject
[She grimaces a little - clearly their thoughts on that subject are shared. But who is she to complain about something like this - it isn't as if their own story doesn't both acknowledge and deny the presence of the other adventurers in their parties on a whim.]
...but you're right, that does make more sense. Even if none of it really makes sense at all.
no subject
[she fusses with one ear, looking abashed, then perks up.]
But we figured out that one part of it, looking for further adventure with us! The rest seems likely to follow from that idea.
no subject
[She glances around, as if their nondescript surroundings held some sort of special answers.]
What are the best places to find adventure around here? A lot of the memes seem to be the same sort of things. Not bad things, mind, but...it would get tiresome.
[Because that's how you get answers if you can't find them, you ask. Except she has a sneaking suspicion that it's not that easy.]
