Also, things like memes don't necessarily follow an entirely rational character progression, so wouldn't it be easy to slip out of character there?

But since the purpose of these is to explore a character, even if it's pushing the character to an extreme, it isn't out of character. In other words, because a piece that acts out of character cheats the logic of a story, a writer has no interest in such a thing. For that reason, those threads are not out of character.

Why not? Maybe in their mercy they want to test out these scenarios where they won't permanently scar you in the reality.

That doesn't hold any water. They don't have control of our reality in the first place, so the only place they can test these scenarios is impermanent.

For our sake, the reality of what is called 'game canon' is enough. It's the reality of one game board.

Even if we're talking about a single game board, she doesn't hold back there, either. At best she's only pushed a few things further in memes or 'not canon'. I guess I'm grateful, considering what they are, but you'd be complaining if you were made to kill even off the official game board.
