Though...I can't just go along without mentioning--your, erm, 'creative' designs for myself and the Paladins are premature at best. [And frankly troubling at worst. Let a girl breathe, for crying out loud!]

I know you've gone quite a while without going in this deep, but in all seriousness, leave the 'ships' to those who can pilot, won't you?

[Erk. Shiro and his smarty-smart retort. She should've known better than to engage with someone who could keep Keith and even Lance in check without lifting a finger.]

My apologies, Princess. It's not my complete intention to corner you either, but you're right. I suppose it's an convenient excuse that serves the greater good, in my case too. No inability. [Look, he gave in anyhow.]

Oh, don't you worry about me. What sort of diplomat would I be if I wasn't asked some of the 'hard' questions. [There's a thick layer of mirth lifting her tone, making it clear that this thread of conversation was nothing she hadn't discussed before. Even if it was about ten millenia ago.]

So if not that, what serves as a welcome diversion when you are needing to decompress?

[Allura, you have that look on your face. The one that makes him uncomfortable, like you're plotting something. Or being sneaky. Not that he's seen it much himself, but still. He shook his head in mild amusement.] Never had a doubt in my mind that you couldn't handle a bit of return fire.

[That question threw him though. Mostly be cause he had no answer for it. He looked as if he actually had to stop and think about it. How did he decompress? He frowned, realizing his answer wasn't the best.] Training, I suppose. Workout's on the side? I've been gone from home so long and then we all jumped right into our Paladin roles, that I don't think I actually... have anything at the moment.

At least, I haven't thought about it.

Spoiler alert: it's speculating about the private lives and interests of her Paladins. It's not all that unusual, if you understood Altean culture. Paladins were heroes, after all, celebrities in their own right. Some customs were hard to shake.]

That...makes sense, I suppose. [Her bright expression softens and she dials back a bit. She'd forgotten that prior to her awakening, Shiro had only recently been freed from captivity.]

I suppose I should find something else to do, to help. Have you any thoughts? [See? He's asking her thoughts on what he might find around the Castle to decompress with other then the training room.]

[Allura folded her arms and cradled her chin in her palm, glancing at him in thought.] I have thoughts. Not certain if they're good ones, though.

[She stands on her toes, raising a hand and places it a few inches above Shiro's head, as though measuring.]

Well, I was thinking about how the young Arusians could use a new playground.

[his brows raise to look up at what ever she's doing with her hand. Measuring? Like... he's what? 2.5 Pidges tall or something?]

Playground? I'm sure I could help build one, no matter what height I am. [someone might not have got it]

Well, we could all build one. But think of the community-building we would accomplish if you would actually play with them.

I doubt I would be much fun to play with.

[In truth, that comment made him chuckle, just slightly, shaking his head in amusement, and looking off in another direction.]

And are you going to come along and assure that I know how to be a playground for these kids or do I have to go do it alone? [In other words, come with him and he might.... try... to play with the tiny people.]

[Allura puffs proudly, planning her hands on her hups in a display of feigned assurance.]

Of course! I would never ask anything of any of you that I would not be willing to carry out myself!

[He gave a sigh. Of course she will go. He's not really surprised. His arms crossed but he gave her a small smile.]

I suppose this means I will one day have to go out with you to play with the kids, in an attempt to learn to decompress.

[He's ignoring his mun as she chuckles about 'go out with you' comment. The mun giggles because it was accidental and yet she left it there.]

We don't have enough of that around here with Lance and Hunk?

[Lance's and Hunk's laughter was cute in their own way, don't get her wrong...but theirs usually came with a mess or some sort of racket.]

Though you can always bring them along to see for yourself.
