a solo boy who might not go to the dark side

Are you gonna re-read those books about me and Jaina? Astral!

...you mean the ones where we're at the Academy, not the shavit after that, right?

Just checking.

Think I know which ones I'm pulling for.

...Not to say the experience was firsthand, or anything.

I guess if that's your definition of "like"...

Didn't we agree that you were going to practice your material on Lowie from now on? He appreciates your sense of humor.

My handler humbly offers our services if you need a Han for something, though, some of these books were read a long time ago. We're currently going through Star Wars: Crucible.

"Imagine me playing sabbac with my captors, half naked, while they've hooked me up to a lie detector and the loser of each hand has to pay up with answers. In the first hand they asked 'How did you feel when Chewie died', 'Why did you mourn more for your co-pilot for your youngest son' and 'why did I love Anakin more than I loved you'?"

He shakes his head and swallows hard. "Had better days."

((Chapter 13, fml. He's been going crazy in my head ever since. That said, crucible happens well after after the whole Lord Caedus thing, so, wouldn't blame you if you just weren't interested. I tend to focus more on Han-centric stories, myself.))

"It was like a glitterstim and kyrf fueled bender from hell." He grumbles. "But with none of the fun."

((It interested me because it was Han/Luke/Leia at their FA ages, but in the Book!verse, so naturally, way better. I remember reading young jedi knights as a kid, which is where most of my knowledge of the Solo!spawn come from, but I'll catch up eventually. I know the high and low lights of what happens. :/ ))

"Till the handler starts reading again." He says with the patented Solo eye roll. You know the one, the whole family does it.

((Hope you're ready to honor that marker, kid. I'mma bout to take you up on that.))

Jacen.

[She was testing the name out on her lips as much as she was addressing him.]

It's good to see you.

I haven't met Jaina or Anakin yet. However, I've no doubt that you're all a handful. I wouldn't have expected otherwise.

[Her smile was wry and teasing.]

I certainly gave my adoptive parents the worst headaches of their lives.

[Meanwhile, Leia gave him a look of surprise - only to have her expression shutter closed with frustration. Not at Jacen, but at herself, for making the same mistakes with all her children, in whichever universe.]

It's never too late.

[She gave him a small smile.]

Get over here.

[She opened her arms to embrace him, her eyes softening with warmth.]

[She hugged him tight. She'd met Ben Solo and mourned for him, and she could only hope that she could rectify her wrongs with her other children. She was so accustomed to pushing aside her feelings to fight for her cause, but at what price?]

I never really pranked him because I felt sorry for him. [Oh, the amount of times he tried to ban her from something, only to have it backfire.] But there was one time a friend and I put pranked the Minister of Agriculture. We put a giant wooly moth in his drawer . . .
