Canon is Fox's Lucifer
You're rather enamored with me aren't you?
[He chuckles.]
I can hardly blame you, that's just how it is.
I am a tiny bit flattered all the same.
Don't you think you should at least wait until there's a few more episodes out?
Or you could perhaps pick up those delightful books.

I never could lie - not even to myself.

A little narcissism never hurt anyone though.

[He tilts his head.]
I'm certain there are people who would disagree.

Though it is rather unavoidable, the two of us talking like this. And we can be a bit full of ourselves if we're completely honest.
But we have damn good reason.
no subject
When have we been anything but honest? Let's leave that to certain other members of the family.
We've certainly earned it the right to our pride.

Truer words never spoken.

I wonder how they'd feel knowing there's two of us. Can't you just imagine ?

[He'll gladly take up his glass and have a sip.]
Their heads would explode. Two of us and not a single one wants to go back to hell, that'd really piss them off.
And perhaps we should pay a visit to our therapist. She'd be thrilled to bits.

[He paused just as he lifted his glass to his lips, his smile turning into a smirk.]
Oh absolutely delighted. She wouldn't know what to do with herself. Isn't twins one of those more common fantasies?
no subject
Twins are nice, but do you remember the sextuplets? Now that was fun.
no subject
[Nope, he's not impressed, especially if one looks over those 'delightful books'. Not that Constantine hasn't visited the Lux. Nice place that. He's just not too thrilled about the idea of Lucifer out walking the world.]
no subject
[He's amused though he has to admit if it were any other reaction - well he'd be just a little bit disappointed.]
I think you'd be rather interested in what I'm up to. It's not the usual old song and dance I assure you.
no subject
[Danger of being a close associate of John Constantine unless one's name is Chas. The Hellblazer himself only lights a cigarette, peering through the smoke as he reaches for his drink.]
Not the usual, eh? Anyone die? Anyone damned or screaming for mercy? Lying to anyone, Lucifer? If so, I've seen it, mate. What your sort does best. The bar is a nice touch, got to give you that.
no subject
Would you like the answers to that in order? If so, the answers are: Yes. One I rather regretted.
[He'll have that drink now thinking about it. He doesn't want to think. So he'll just pick up his own glass and fill it taking a drink.]
There were others that didn't matter so much. There was only one I had a personal hand in but he deserved it and so much more. I did meet someone rather interesting and I couldn't let her die so I suppose I saved a life. As for lying, I haven't lied. I'll leave that to humans.
[He laughs softly before sliding his free hand into his pocket to fetch his lighter and cigarette case.]
You lot are so funny. I've told people exactly who I am and they ask me if it's some sort of stage name like I have the need to hide. I am glad to hear you say that, John. I'm rather proud of her myself.
no subject
[That one isn't confirmed, not for John yet. He didn't join the rush to try and claim Hell when the Dream Weaver opened his home. Enough problems sat on his doorstep with the Rising Darkness without needing that added in.]
A personal hand. You getting attached to my sort? We who live and die in years instead of centuries? You know that can't end well. You have to. Especially if they hear your name and don't believe.
[John wasn't like others, and he knew Lucifer when he saw him. Not the First Among the Fallen, of course, but Lucifer himself. The First, Second and Third were another matter. Lucifer? The Light Bringer? Completely different.]
Heaven couldn't have let you walk away so easily...
[A leading statement at best.]
no subject
[He gives a rather enigmatic shrug of his shoulders.]
If your kind needs a little help speaking the truth and if a bit of desire and lustful charm gets me to what I need in the end; if it punishes the truly wicked all the better. It's my duty after all.
Attached, no. Interested? Absolutely. I'm vexed by her and I want to figure out how she works. She's different. At first I thought He might have sent her but seems not. Though I have been reprimanded that I'm the devil and I shouldn't care, show mercy, or restraint. It all amounted to: Commit evil, Lucifer, that's what you're here for.
[Lucifer will pause there to light up his own cigarette and take a slow drag, exhaling the smoke before he continues.]
Easily? Not at all. I've received many warnings to return to Hell and carry on with my job. Father has even taken to sending Amenadiel to threaten and force me back to my throne.
no subject
[Not much use wasting good liquor on someone who might not even feel it. Whether Lucifer did or not isn't something John has given much thought to.]
Can't have it both ways. Either you are or you aren't. Duty implies you are.
Ah, there's a bird involved. How did I know?
[A sly grin hidden in an exhale of cigarette smoke. Wasn't that the way it always went? There's a surreal factor to sitting here listening to it coming from this entity.]
She know? About who you are?
no subject
Wait just a second, normally it's just because I like doing it - It makes for one hell of a party trick. In this case, well I can want to do the right thing every now and again. A guy like that deserved to go to Hell.
[He's toying with his glass before downing the rest of it.]
I told her my name and I've made no secret of it, with her or anyone. She's seen my charms. She doesn't really believe - I think she has a good deal of questions.
no subject
[What's it to John Constantine if Lucifer is off doing his own thing? Absolutely nothing at all. Hell is still Hell no matter who's claiming rulership.]
That'll get her in trouble. Questions, that is. What are you going to tell her when she asks them?
no subject
[He shrugs another drag from his cigarette.]
I see no point in lying to her. It's funny how eager your kind is to believe in Him and signs from the divine appearing in this world but me they only seem to believe when they see a peek of what they expect the devil to be.
[He's thoughtful before giving a laugh.]
Her daughter seemed to accept it well enough. I believe she thinks we're something like friends now but we all know how I feel about children.
