3.09: PvP.

[ the world needs him to be a strong leader, with a commanding tone and the knowledge to save the day. but right now, outside of the adrenaline and the horror of what he just witnessed, he just draws in a breath. ]

... I believe James and I are going to have a discussion.

[ quietly. calm and effervescent as ever. glynda and qrow, probably, are the only ones who can tell how truly furious he is. and ironwood, too. but his tone remains soft, not raised, though it takes ]

After, of course, I assist in the protection of my school.

We are indeed. This is unprecedented, and now Grimm are storming the Vytal festival.

[He's just going to take a slow sip of coffee.]

He will have a lot of explaining to do in the coming days, but yes. The protection of Beacon and Vale come first. I simply hope that Oobleck and Port can keep him from making any ill advised judgments until the threat has passed.

No, I do not think he did. However, entering what the public will see as a war machine in a tournament to celebrate unity is not something that will reflect well on him, or Atlas.

[Sigh and temple rub.]

And then there is the issue of Amber. Would it even be ethical to ask Miss Nikos to continue farther after this trauma? If we ask, I have no doubt she will agree if only to attempt to atone for a crime she had no intention of committing, and would not have done if she had not been placed in that situation.

No, she's not. Unfortunately that's rather irrelevant at the moment. All the general public knows is that Atlas entered a machine built for battle in a tournament against children. ...And Miss Nikos tore her apart.

[He's just going to sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose for a moment.]

Neither do I, but I see few alternatives at the moment.

[She's tense. Jee-Hyun might not be from their world, but she definitely watched. She knew Penny was someone that didn't deserve what she got.]

I know I'm not from your world and you're going to not know this when it all matters, but I have to get it off my chest.

I'm sure Penny had no idea, but don't you think it's odd that he submitted a perpetually young girl into a fighting competition just as a decision for one of these "Maiden's" successors is being made?

With the only way this power is transferred away being by death?
