+1 more Poe. (Attempting a voicetest.)

Don't worry so much. We just have to give it our best and do what we can. It's easy.

It's not any different than flying - once you get used to it. It'll take a little time, but come on...what doesn't? If nothing else, it's not like we have the fate of the galaxy on our shoulders or something.

("But, you do...")

Alright, alright. Fair enough - it's not so crucial for you. But there are things at stake on my end, doesn't that make going out there and doing what you can all that more important?

("Yeah, I guess so.")

(He grins. That's better.) Besides, I think this needs to be said...

...It's not like you're going into this thing alone - seems like you got a good bunch of people behind you and willing to make it happen.

So, let's just go out there and get it done.
aphotic_auror: ...and why is she so RUDE? (Both her hair and shoes are flat)

//throws a Potter-verse witch at you, b/c of course, that's what TFA is secretly about, RIGHT!?

"The fate of the galaxy, eh?" Maria appears in front of Poe randomly, with her trademark smirk firmly in place, of course. "Jeez, and I thought my mate Potter had a big ego! I mean, seriously? He may have thought that the fate of England lay solely in his hands, but-- the Galaxy?? Nope, not so much!" She chuckles briefly, and then steps forward, sticking out a hand to Poe to shake. "I'm Maria, by the way.... Maria Selwyn. And you are, Mister O'Fate-of-the-Galaxy...?"

Maria is so obsessively Observant that she noticed his confusion, and smiled a little wider at it, of course. "Aye, England: as in the centre of the United Kingdom-- y' know, on Earth?"

She giggles a little bit; this bloke does remind her of James Potter, after all. And hey, maybe if he's single, and not obsessed with Lily Evans, then maybe-- just maybe-- she might stand a shot with him! "Well... No need for you to know Potter, really! I mean, seriously: his hair is a ruddy rat's nest compared to Yours..."

Her grin turns slightly teasing, of course, as she adds: "Oh yes? Well, then... I dunno that I can argue with that! Seriously though: I do believe that I can only credit all-- well, most-- of my colleagues from the Ministry of Magic with my own survival, for as long as I survive this bloody war we've got going on here...."

[[Oh yes, indeed; for as long as you DO Survive, dear...]]

Maria chooses to Ignore her god-forsaken typist, of course! "And it's lovely to meet you, Mister Poe Dameron!" She imitates his own accent to make the pronunciation of his name more "accurate" of course, as is her wont when dealing with other foreign "Dignitaries". (As if Poe qualifies as a damned dignitary, of course! HA!)

"Oh, no, the Order-- of the Phoenix, that is to say-- is a totally different entity from England itself!" And Maria blinks in confusion, as she tries to decide which point to address first: the one of how the HELL he knew of the Order, in the first place, or... "And really now, England is a country NOT a bloody town! I mean-- seriously, I think that it might be an equivalent of your "planets" in YOUR galaxy.... Unless, of course, you've got separate Countries and Governments thereof, in your galaxy, too? Not just-- planetary governments?"

She grimaces apologetically as she adds to her own confusion, by asking: "Coruscant? Hosnian Prime? I mean-- sorry, but-- I'm not at all familiar with your galaxy, so it seems. I mean, if-- Coruscant is a bloody cold planet with copious amounts of fog over their capitol city, well. I suppose there could be some similarities between England and Coruscant, at least..."

And now she finally looks awash in relief, as she realises she has something over her new friend Poe, rather than vice-versa. She is far too much a Slyther-claw to actually enjoy being in the dark at all, after all! "Oh yes, the Ministry of Magic is the English government-- or at least, the magical branch thereof! I mean, the branch that has its sway over anyone who happens to be a Wizard on British soil, you know?" She winces apologetically again, as she adds: "I mean, sorry; you probably don't even know what a wizard is, do you? Well, they're like-- Force-sensitive beings, in your universe, you know? Like, we can move things by just-- thinking about them, and such as...?"

[He recognizes the uniform, if not the man.]

Aw, flying's the easy part. I was threading the Needle in Beggar's Canyon when I was thirteen.
shortforastormtrooper: (Big Grin)

[personal profile] shortforastormtrooper 2016-01-06 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. Beggar's Canyon's real narrow, real tricky if you're taking it at any kind of speed, but if you can fly right through the middle of this stone formation, the Stone Needle, you can make it through faster than anybody.

I'm pretty much the best pilot on Tatooine. Just kind of comes naturally to me.

hey buddy

[personal profile] immunetothelight 2016-01-05 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
An inspiring speech.

[It's obvious he doesn't really think so. The sarcasm is there, but not laid on thick.]

Such a shame you will disappoint your mundane - disappoint them all, really, when the Resistance falls.

You couldn't keep the map to the location of Skywalker a secret from me. I always get what I want... in the end.
polyglot_mechanic: (You're Free)

Awkward Hello

[personal profile] polyglot_mechanic 2016-01-08 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
That's a good way to think about it.

[Rey smiles brightly.]

We have all things we want to do right? No matter what else happens... there is always time to go back...
polyglot_mechanic: (Laughing)

>.> Hello

[personal profile] polyglot_mechanic 2016-01-08 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
[She laughs softly.]

I understand. I have to give my mun confidence too. I don't even know if I'll end up in a game.

I'm refreshing to see someone not worried about it.

[It's pretty awesome.]
polyglot_mechanic: (Yeah)

You're cute

[personal profile] polyglot_mechanic 2016-01-08 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Rey smiles.]

You guys are hope to the Resistance.

[She doesn't think she's done all that much.]

Having you guys around is great but there will always be people to fight.
polyglot_mechanic: (Got it)

Yes~

[personal profile] polyglot_mechanic 2016-01-08 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Me too.

[Now that she has a reason to fight.]

So uh... what about this game thing then?

We can fight wherever we are right?
polyglot_mechanic: (Default)

Yes

[personal profile] polyglot_mechanic 2016-01-09 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Rey has no idea how many worlds are out there.]

If you could pick a place where would you want to go?

[Somewhere in space? Or maybe something else? Rey can’t help but be a little curious and she has a sinking feeling that no matter where she ends up there will be people who need help there.]
polyglot_mechanic: (Default)

Probably

[personal profile] polyglot_mechanic 2016-01-12 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Rey smiles and since he gave her an answer she’ll give him one in response. Her reasoning is nearly as noble though perhaps a little bit more idealistic.]

I’d like to go somewhere where I can meet people.

[Her grin widens.]

And help them of course but I bet they all have their own stories to tell.
