+1 more Poe. (Attempting a voicetest.)
Don't worry so much. We just have to give it our best and do what we can. It's easy.
It's not any different than flying - once you get used to it. It'll take a little time, but come on...what doesn't? If nothing else, it's not like we have the fate of the galaxy on our shoulders or something.
("But, you do...")
Alright, alright. Fair enough - it's not so crucial for you. But there are things at stake on my end, doesn't that make going out there and doing what you can all that more important?
("Yeah, I guess so.")
(He grins. That's better.) Besides, I think this needs to be said...
...It's not like you're going into this thing alone - seems like you got a good bunch of people behind you and willing to make it happen.
So, let's just go out there and get it done.

//throws a Potter-verse witch at you, b/c of course, that's what TFA is secretly about, RIGHT!?
RIGHT.
Drawin' a blank there. But lots of places out there.
So here's a slight shrug.)
Don't know this Potter guy at all, but it's not exactly just on my shoulders. There's quite a few more of us out there. But everyone has to do their part and do the best they can.
Also, ego? (A laugh.) If you mean confidence in spades, yes. It gets me called reckless every so often, but I prefer passionate.
Maria, huh? (He then smiles and shakes her hand.) Poe Dameron.

She giggles a little bit; this bloke does remind her of James Potter, after all. And hey, maybe if he's single, and not obsessed with Lily Evans, then maybe-- just maybe-- she might stand a shot with him! "Well... No need for you to know Potter, really! I mean, seriously: his hair is a ruddy rat's nest compared to Yours..."
Her grin turns slightly teasing, of course, as she adds: "Oh yes? Well, then... I dunno that I can argue with that! Seriously though: I do believe that I can only credit all-- well, most-- of my colleagues from the Ministry of Magic with my own survival, for as long as I survive this bloody war we've got going on here...."
[[Oh yes, indeed; for as long as you DO Survive, dear...]]
Maria chooses to Ignore her god-forsaken typist, of course! "And it's lovely to meet you, Mister Poe Dameron!" She imitates his own accent to make the pronunciation of his name more "accurate" of course, as is her wont when dealing with other foreign "Dignitaries". (As if Poe qualifies as a damned dignitary, of course! HA!)

(Then he shrugs slightly.)
Earth? Can't say I've heard of it, is it anything like Coruscant? Or Hosnian Prime?
(He definitely does not know of it, but go on. He's curious now and he might even be grinning some.)
So, the "Ministry of Magic"? That's a government? Part of one?

She grimaces apologetically as she adds to her own confusion, by asking: "Coruscant? Hosnian Prime? I mean-- sorry, but-- I'm not at all familiar with your galaxy, so it seems. I mean, if-- Coruscant is a bloody cold planet with copious amounts of fog over their capitol city, well. I suppose there could be some similarities between England and Coruscant, at least..."
And now she finally looks awash in relief, as she realises she has something over her new friend Poe, rather than vice-versa. She is far too much a Slyther-claw to actually enjoy being in the dark at all, after all! "Oh yes, the Ministry of Magic is the English government-- or at least, the magical branch thereof! I mean, the branch that has its sway over anyone who happens to be a Wizard on British soil, you know?" She winces apologetically again, as she adds: "I mean, sorry; you probably don't even know what a wizard is, do you? Well, they're like-- Force-sensitive beings, in your universe, you know? Like, we can move things by just-- thinking about them, and such as...?"

Aw, flying's the easy part. I was threading the Needle in Beggar's Canyon when I was thirteen.

In any case, she can handle it. I know it.
(Oh, Poe...it could be. It could be, man.)
Threading the Needle in Beggar's Canyon? (Go on...)

So, you did that at 13? (He looks amused now.) You have to be some sort of genius.

hey buddy
[It's obvious he doesn't really think so. The sarcasm is there, but not laid on thick.]
Such a shame you will disappoint your mundane - disappoint them all, really, when the Resistance falls.
You couldn't keep the map to the location of Skywalker a secret from me. I always get what I want... in the end.
Hello friend.
I won't.
(Because you know, he only was a part of what kicked the First Order's ass - well, blew up their weapon anyway.
A huge part, but he won't go that far. It's not him. Besides, it was a group effort in the end.)
The Resistance won't fall. See, that's the thing about people who are passionate and doing what's right - you can't keep us down in the end. We'll win, just wait.
(Ah, yeah, that. Not the best memory, really. Poe finds himself going "heh" when he hears.)
Funny, you had to kidnap a girl at the end there and from what I heard - my friend and her knocked you into the ground. You didn't get what you wanted...at least, you didn't have it for long.
Awkward Hello
[Rey smiles brightly.]
We have all things we want to do right? No matter what else happens... there is always time to go back...
Awkward Hello? No, Heeeellllo. :)
It does no good to just worry, just do it...
(Not that he hasn't ever been worried about anything. He has. Loads of times. But he still tries to act on what he thinks he should do.)
And some of us need a bit of a push to remember that.
(Totally not you, Rey.)
>.> Hello
I understand. I have to give my mun confidence too. I don't even know if I'll end up in a game.
I'm refreshing to see someone not worried about it.
[It's pretty awesome.]
^__^
I'd only be worried if there weren't more important things going on right now. Which, there are plenty of things that we should be dealing with. Yeah, we won once, but where would be the Resistance be without us around, right? Finn too.
(Poe's grin fades some, but he still is smiling.)
Besides, it's good to know I'm not the only one over here. That helps more than anyone'd think.
You're cute
You guys are hope to the Resistance.
[She doesn't think she's done all that much.]
Having you guys around is great but there will always be people to fight.
Am not.
(He would definitely end up thinking "Are you kidding? Not just anyone could take that down! Take some credit, kid!" if he knew that.)
We all ended up doing that much.
(Hm, she had a good point. There would always be people to fight, but still he feels its his duty to keep fighting.)
Yeah, I guess there always will be. I'd still prefer to see this through until the end.
Yes~
[Now that she has a reason to fight.]
So uh... what about this game thing then?
We can fight wherever we are right?
Re: Noooo. I'm not.
(Poe gives her question some thought.)
I guess it depends on wherever it is we end up at. In any case, guess so. My mun would probably have Ewoks about it, but yeah if it comes down to it.
Yes
If you could pick a place where would you want to go?
[Somewhere in space? Or maybe something else? Rey can’t help but be a little curious and she has a sinking feeling that no matter where she ends up there will be people who need help there.]
We're going to keep going round and round about this. lol
If I were to pick a place? (Such a bold question. He likes it.) Well, if I tell you my choice - you should tell me yours. Or something you wouldn't mind so much anyway.
(He then appears to be in thought and after a few minutes, he then gives a huge grin. The answer was actually easy to find.)
Well, I guess as long as I could still fly...I'd be good. Could probably manage to help some folks out that way. (Or you know - he'd at least have something familiar around.)
Probably
I’d like to go somewhere where I can meet people.
[Her grin widens.]
And help them of course but I bet they all have their own stories to tell.
Re: >///<
(He nods.)
Everyone has their own stories, so of course you're going to get to hear at least one or two that way.
(Besides, they say sometimes that does more than enough for a person.)
I'd say go for it, if your mun lets you.
(Of course, now his mun has thrown him into a place where he can't pilot and help people that way, he wonders if he should fill the time meeting people now.)
