[Luke looks up from tinkering with his lightsaber and he smiles gently]

Well this hasn't happened in a long time has it Mun? I was beginning to think you'd forgotten about me and yes I know you got burned out on my canon for a few years, but that doesn't mean I wasn't always waiting for you to remember. The Force never forgets and neither do I.

That would be difficult, but for the moment my mun only has one canon point she enjoys since it's been a while since she's read the others.

[Luke chuckles and nods]

This is true. It's been quite a few years since the last time my mun played me.

[Suspicious look at that piece of metal in his hands.]

What weapon is that? [He asks, nodding to it. Of course, the man doesn't have to tell him, but there was little harm in the asking.]

[Luke holds up the metal tube and thinks for a moment before deciding to press the on button and let the green light blade hiss out into the open.]

This is a lightsaber the weapon of the Jedi Knight.

[His hand immediately goes to the hilt of the large sword slung overy his back, half out of the scabbard before he pauses. The beam of light was something he had never seen before. It must be some kind of magic.]

A Jedi Knight? Are you wizard or man to wield such a blade?

[Luke chuckles softly.]

A bit of both actually. Jedi have a connection to something called the Force that allows us to do amazing things.

[onewhodares]

[He let's his own blade slip back into its scabbard, since he could see the other man had no intention of attacking. Yet.

While the sword on his back could be easily wielded by a man, for a dwarf such as Thorin, it looked like a two handed sword.]

What sorts of things?

[He asked, skeptical.]

[Luke considers the question carefully.]

We can fight with a strength and speed most cannot, influence minds as needs must and many other things depending on a Jedi's training level.

[onewhodares]

[Thorin crosses his arms, his version of a "relaxed" stance. Looking quite unimpressed at such claims.]

Wizard. I thought as much.

[Wizards, while sometimes helpful, were instrumental in causing all sorts of chaos and trouble.]

[Luke chuckles softly]

Don't like wizards much do you?

They are complicated beyond their need to be helpful.

[Just try and ask Gandalf a straight question sometime. Never get a straight answer in return.]

Are you friend to Gandalf the Grey?

I have no knowledge of this Gandalf at all I'm sorry. I believe you and I are from different universes.

[onewhodares]

[He hums, reluctant agreement.]

Just as well.

[One wizard to deal with was enough. However, he's not forgotten his manners entirely. He puts his arm across his chest, fist to his shoulder, as a salute of greeting.]

Thorin Oakenshield. At your service and your family's.

[Luke bows his head.]

Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight a pleasure to know you Thorin.

What do you fight with your sword of light in your universe? Orcs? Goblins?

[vaders_only_son]

Not exactly. When Jedi do fight we fight robots, Sith and some creatures you will have never heard of.

[onewhodares]

[Creatures of metal sound quite evil to Thorin, a dwarf that's used to shaping metal to his own design.]

What are Sith?

The Force has a light side and a dark side. The Sith focus on the dark and use raw emotion to connect with it.

[onewhodares]

Hm...and you seek to destroy them and this Force?

[Sounds like a plan to Thorin.]

[vaders_only_son]

Well no. Fighting for no reason is not the Jedi way.

That kind of thing seems to happen rather often among muns.

The boy smiles in a blandly pleasant manner.]

I suppose it is only to be expected.

But if you don't mind my asking, what is the force?

[vaders_only_son]

[Luke watches the young man for a long moment curious and yet wary about him.]

The Force is living energy that surrounds the worlds in my universe and those strong in sensing in can learn to work with it.

[Will frowns in thought as he tries to make sense of that. It didn't sound like anything he knew from his own world. And yet...

He couldn't help but wonder if there was any similarity to the forces of his own universe. To the High Magic which held the worlds on their courses and kept the stars in their places. To the Light and the Dark, the great dark pit as deep as the universe and the cold white flame that burned at the center of the universe. To the Wild Magic of living things and the Old Magic of the earth.]

Are there many who can sense it?

[Because perhaps that was the part of the explanation that seemed the most strange to Will. He could feel the Light, always. For he was of the Light and had been born with the duty to serve it. But the vast majority of the people in his world would never know anything about it.]

[Luke looks sad for a long moment and when he answers his voice is soft and respectful]

There used to be. But now I'm the last of them.

[lightbranded]

[Some sadness comes into Will's usually pleasantly bland expression. ]

I am sorry to hear that.

[He hesitates for a moment, unsure whether he should say anything .]

There were once many of my kind. Now I am the last.

I'm sorry. I know how that feeling sits in a heart and it is hard.

[The...Force? What kind of concept is that?]

Please tell me what the Force is. I've never heard of anything like that back home...

[Luke considers how to explain the Force to this young lady and decides to go for the easiest one.]

The Force is a energy shield that surrounds all living things on my world. Those strong in sensing it can learn to manipulate it.

It sounds quite powerful...does this mean it could be manipulated depending on the person using it?

[Curious as she is, this definitely isn't anything like her magical powers or anything the Princess ever told her about. It sounds like part of a very interesting story...]

[Luke nods not minding curiosity at all. Curiosity is what brought him into the Jedi path.]

Yes, the stronger a Jedi's emotions the deeper into the Force they can go. However, darker emotions can be dangerous.

[midori_majutsu_shi]

[Reiko gives an amused grin.]

They always seem to do that, until something tugs in the back of their minds to remind them.

Force? Is that what they call chi on your world? [She thinks a moment to explain it.] It's the energy of all living things, some of us can manipulate it on my world to heal or harm.

[Luke nods]

The Force is indeed our universes chi as you call it. A living energy shield that surrounds us all. to be used as the Jedi or Sith see fit.

I thought the aura you gave felt a lot like my mentor's. Only, his lacks something yours has... It's not bad, just, a little rare to feel in someone else. [It might be a warrior spark, she's used to being able to tell who the greatest threat is back home. Though she doesn't feel threatened by him, she just knows that he probably wouldn't be an easy target]

What is it that mine has that his does not?

[Luke's voice carries gentle curiosity something he has never been able to get rid of even after leaving Tatooine.}

[She's quiet a moment to really focus, he might feel how conflicted her own is.]

More control than I have for one. And it's clear you've seen a war, it's a spice mixed in. My mentor follows a path where we are not allowed to fight. I... kind of break it because of how I was raised. If I do not practice I tend to lose the focus of why I am trying to turn from the path that was forced on me as a child.

I was once like you. Unable to focus on the here and now always looking ahead. It caused me no end of trouble.

[She nods]

I'm working on that, as well as trying to atone for the damage I did while younger. I caused so much damage. It is challenging, but trust me; I'm better than I was.

[vaders_only_son]

I believe you. I can feel the strength within you.

[midori_majutsu_shi]

[She smirks a little because that's exactly what the monk that is helping her says all the time when she manages to keep her temper around the more difficult refugees they live with]

Thank you Sensei. [The way she says the last word is more honorific, acknowledging he's at least slightly superior.]

[Luke bows his head again. While he himself does not understand what the word means, he understands the emotion behind it]

People call me Master when I haven't earned the title. I have the feeling you just did the same thing.

Sensei means teacher in my mother's tongue.

I was showing respect. I don't often use the word with people to be honest.

The pleasure's mine, it's been a while since I've talked to another druid. I know you're really not, but it's close enough.

And my world can be. Mostly people fight among one another for petty reasons.

Many worlds face such infighting. It's how those who don't want to fight handle them that matters.
