Siblings are apt to do whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want to do it. As the eldest of four siblings, you have my sympathy.

One is less trouble - a scholar, which means he's usually occupied with his books. Another has started his own family, so he's less of a hassle to me now.

The last is... much like me. Ten years younger, less athletic, and twice as sassy to make up for it. She's the one to watch out for.

If I ever get home from the Nexus, I swear I'll put up with all the sass she can hand out for a day before I complain about it.

[Yeah, right. She's totally going to be fighting back about it within an hour of being home.]

A scholarly inclination doesn't always hinder their mischief, in my experience. But I must concur: the youngest is easily the most troublesome.

[ And missed in their absence just the same, but shh. ]

I find it most effective to try keeping them occupied with more interesting matters. Far from a foolproof method, but better than the direct approach.

He has the sharpest wit, but that brother is also the least amount of trouble. Perhaps that's because he's grateful for my push to make him a scholar, but I can't be sure.

[Dreams forbid Amelia ever mentioned to her sister that she missed her for any amount of time - she would never hear the end of it.]

The elder two are now occupied enough that I don't worry about them, but the little one is a sickly thing. Being trapped in our family home all day means she's wrapped every member of my family around her little finger. I couldn't find enough things for her to do all day if I tried - not with needing to spend most of my day away from the house.

[She frowns at that thought. Now that she's trapped far away from all of them, she wishes she'd spent more time at home with her family. Such regrets - and nothing that can be done about them.]

That does pose a difficulty. Is it possible for her to host visitors from time to time? Or to correspond with people versed in her interests? A circle of friends and acquaintances often provides entertainment and intrigue aplenty.

[ He smiles slightly. ]

Better to employ her nose for amusement, than to struggle in supplying it all yourself.

When last I left her, she was occupied with entertaining my grandfather and my mother almost every day. She has some few friends who visit from time to time, but I fear she needs far more stimulation than having friends over a few times throughout the week.

[She sighs heavily.]

I fear there's nothing I can do about that from here, sadly. Any and all suggestions are welcome in the chance that I do manage to get home, though.
