On fraternal antics at
nexus_sages
And why should I be angry, mundane? My brother is performing his role admirably for someone intent on making himself difficult. In fact, his ignorance of what his role is begins to seem more help than hindrance.
Yes, yes, naturally I’ll tell him in due time. Perhaps when he stops running off to dally with plane-walking foreigners, for example.
…Enough. I’ll handle family matters in my own fashion, thank you. Perhaps instead we could finally discuss the details of my other plans.
[TOTALLY NOT BOTHERED AT ALL.]

Mostly...are you okay man? You look like you're gonna pop a coronary.

...And I am fine, thank you. [ That's just his 'dealing with Felix' face. ] It's simply been an exceptionally frustrating day.

[It's not a lie, even if he's not really succeeding.]
Just because I'm friends with Felix, doesn't mean I can't sympathize. Maybe grab a drink after work and unwind?

[ The corner of his mouth twitches upward. Some people can't just smile normally. ]
I appreciate the offer, but I'm afraid neither leaving my work nor 'unwinding' are... easily arranged, for me. [ So what were you doing at the ball, Stratos? Besides giving Verity gossip fodder. ] I'm sure you'll find my brother far better company.

Your brother's a good guy. Good luck man.

I know. [ Said softly. He knows what his brother can be, which is one reason it annoys him when Felix opts to piss about instead. ] Thank you, captain. I do hope that... ah, things unfold well for you. However it may appear.

[And no, that's not going to change when she learns Felix is the brother in question. Seriously.]

[ Gods help him if he'd had to nanny two more. ]

The last is... much like me. Ten years younger, less athletic, and twice as sassy to make up for it. She's the one to watch out for.
If I ever get home from the Nexus, I swear I'll put up with all the sass she can hand out for a day before I complain about it.
[Yeah, right. She's totally going to be fighting back about it within an hour of being home.]

[ And missed in their absence just the same, but shh. ]
I find it most effective to try keeping them occupied with more interesting matters. Far from a foolproof method, but better than the direct approach.

[Dreams forbid Amelia ever mentioned to her sister that she missed her for any amount of time - she would never hear the end of it.]
The elder two are now occupied enough that I don't worry about them, but the little one is a sickly thing. Being trapped in our family home all day means she's wrapped every member of my family around her little finger. I couldn't find enough things for her to do all day if I tried - not with needing to spend most of my day away from the house.
[She frowns at that thought. Now that she's trapped far away from all of them, she wishes she'd spent more time at home with her family. Such regrets - and nothing that can be done about them.]

[ He smiles slightly. ]
Better to employ her nose for amusement, than to struggle in supplying it all yourself.
no subject
[She sighs heavily.]
I fear there's nothing I can do about that from here, sadly. Any and all suggestions are welcome in the chance that I do manage to get home, though.

[Someone's ears are perked upright in interest!]

[ Unspeakable oversight or outright lie? You decide! ]
[ But seriously there is a reason he never tried to make peace with Verity. ]
Besides, you seem to have been quite busy enough helping my brother with his little schemes.
