YAY! PEOPLE!

"It's not fair! I have all these friends but I'm not going anywhere else to make more!" Koishi crossed her arms, puffing out her cheeks. "It's the worst! The wooooorst! I just want to meet new people!"

"I'm stuuuuck! The only outside things I get to do are really dark and scary and depressing." She gestured widely, spinning once and nearly falling over. She caught herself in the air, shifting and sitting cross-legged, hovering a few feet above the ground. "I mean... I'm a youkai. I'm a timeless concept personified and I'm strong and tough and I'm psychic but I do feel pain. If you rip out my third eye and stuff it in a new body it hurts... At least when the mean peach lady did it..."

"Anyway, I snuck away to see whats going on here! Despite the fact I'm always invisible I've found it surprisingly hard to do... Anyway, is there anyone around? I brought taffy!"

"Ooh, taffy!"

Cue theme music.

[koishi_komeiji]

"Yeah!" Koishi zipped over to Nui, rummaging around in her pocket and pulling out a drawstring bag. She pulled out a small sweet wrapped in wax paper, offering it to the blonde pigtailed monster.

"Sis made it for me. She uses a tiny tiny bit of oni sake instead of salt so it has a nice zing to it!" A brief pause. "I really like your dress Miss. It is just the right shade of pink!"

[disdressing]

"Do you like it?" She does a twirl. "It's my own design~"

She hops over and snags the candy, unwrapping it and plopping it into her mouth. "Oooh, that is nice~"

[koishi_komeiji]

"Ohh! You're very creative then Miss. I don't meet many humans who are so proficient in any one artform." The artery over her shoulder twisted around into a more defined heart as she pulled out another piece of taffy, offering it.

"My name is Koishi Komeiji. I'm a satori youkai. But you don't have to be scared of me. I can't read minds anymore. Now I just read and manipulate the subconscious. I'm really good at it."

[disdressing]

"Like the monsters that are supposed to live in the mountains? That's a real thing, huh? I kind of just figured it was something silly that humans made up!"

[koishi_komeiji]

"Yeah! We live in mountains!" Her third eye drifted forward, nudging Nui's shoulder gently. "Or we did until we moved underground. Now we live under the mountain. It's nice."

The little youkai leaned in a bit more, tilting her head. She didn't seem to have a concept of personal space. "Ohh? So you're not human? That's neat. You have a really convincing human face and body. I bet they don't ever get mad at you and chase you around."

[disdressing]

"Hmm?" Nui poked the strange floating purple ball.

She didn't seem even slightly perturbed by it, or Koishi's physical proximity. "You don't seem too weird either, except for this thing. What is it?"

[koishi_komeiji]

Koishi twitched when the eye was poked, but it seemed more involuntary than a reaction to pain. "Oh! Satori youkai's have third eyes. They're like a special second brain that helps us read and process the thoughts of others. It used to be connected to my head too but I pulled that out so I didn't have to read minds anymore."

She took off her hat, a charming little thing if not for the lopsided inner ring, and brushed back her hair fully revealing a bald spot and very old scar just above her left temple. The flesh was slightly depressed as if a bit of her skull was missing. "See? But I'm much better now.

She replaced the hat. The lopsided inner ring seemed more intentional now, dipping down a little further over that scar to help protect it. "But I can do things with the subconscious mind now instead of the conscious mind so it's totally fine. And you have a neat mind miss."

[disdressing]

"I should hope so! Everything about me is unique and great~!"

She reached out to grab the eye and examine it more closely. "Why did you pull it out though? Reading minds sounds like it would be really useful!"

Imagine all the things she could find out about people with that! Imagine the fun she could have when she was privvy to personal thoughts!

But then, that was kind of cheating, wasn't it? Where's the fun if you know all the answers already?

She twitched a few times when the eye was grabbed but she settled after a moment. It was surprisingly sturdy and rigid made of thick cartilage and supported with several small, rib-like bones. The skin was soft and had a leathery, almost powdery texture to it. It had a similar scar on top of it where the artery and nerves had been ripped out but the dark blue color camouflaged it quite well. The lids could be opened easily, the lens completely frosted over though it may have once been green. There was a harsh horizontal line down the center where the cataract was thicker. Likely another scar from additional damage.

"Because I didn't want to read minds anymore. People don't like it when their thoughts are read and then they try to hurt me with torches and pitchforks. But this way I can walk around and they can't see me because I manipulate their minds into thinking I'm not there. Sometimes I can't get that power to turn off though..."

"Besides," She continued. "I like how the subconscious looks a lot more. The subconscious mind is pretty~ Yours is deep and dark with a thin haze of spinning fragmented light, traced over with brilliant lines that dance and weave with harsh angles making patterns and grazing the edge where the brightness starts. It's tinged and ripples though, ebbing and flowing like water and never sitting still. It makes me excited! I just want to run and fly really fast!"

[disdressing]

"Ooooh, that's super pretty~!!! What other things can you do besides make people think you're not there?"

[koishi_komeiji]

"It is super pretty! And that's what your mind looks like!" Her third eye slipped gingerly from Nui's grasp, pressing gently into her cheek.

"I can do plenty of other things too! I can change a person's emotions or their perception. I can change what a person is dreaming about. I can tell when a person is lying too, but I can't lie either. I can create psychic bolts... though all satori can do that. Not just me. Mine are different though. They damage mental foundations as opposed to mental faculties. I can crush the mind of a human as easily as a dry leaf, but that's a very rude thing to do."

Koishi please don't tell Nui you can wipe the human operating system. Nothing good will come of it.

[disdressing]

"Wow, all that sounds pretty cool and useful~! We should be friends!"

Friends that do favors for each other~!

[koishi_komeiji]

"Okay!" You probably shouldn't agree so quickly Koishi... "I bet we'll be the best of friends. We can go do all sorts of fun things together!" She did a little loop in the air, her hat nearly falling, though she caught it in time.

"If you like dresses then you'll love some of the things we have in chireiden. I kept my kimono from home and people loved looking at it when I wore it last. It's over three centuries old and its real silk and really soft and comfortable."

She didn't give Nui time to respond. "Or maybe picnics? Do you like sitting in the sunshine or in the shade? We have all sorts of wonderful things to eat and sis is a really good cook. And don't worry if any wild animals attack I can fight them off. I'm a youkai so I'm really tough and strong." You already said that Koishi.

I couldn't not. >.>

You do not wish to be this... thing's friend, Koishi. She is one of Satsuki-sama's deadliest enemies, and will no doubt attempt to mutilate you once you outlive whatever purpose she has in store.

And who shows up but this little vampire? And she's a little surprised to hear about ripping eyes out and mean peach ladies.

"A little far from home, as usual, Koishi."

[koishi_komeiji]

"Miss Bats!" Koishi instantly attached herself to the vampire, nuzzling her face. "I'm not far from home. Home is always where you feel familiar and comfortable and you're both of these things!"

Of course by that definition Remilia was probably far from home considering how tight those tentacles were cuddling.

Oh, here we go again. Remilia struggles a little in the little satori's grip, and eventually simply turns into mist in an attempt to escape Koishi.

"Stop that!"

[koishi_komeiji]

Koishi toppled forward onto the mass of tentacles, having to struggle some to untangle herself, even as they slowly retracted. "Miss Baaaats That's not very fair. I just wanted a hug." Fortunately she didn't sound too terribly hurt.

Remi reformed, but only after a few moments.

"...Give me more warning, then."

[koishi_komeiji]

"But you should know by now that I'm gonna hug you Miss Bats! You're super cuddly and cute and you have pretty wings!" That, and you can manipulate fate Remi. If you don't see the hug coming its just as much your fault.

Fortunately she didn't try to hug Remilia again, instead taking her by the hand and attempting to drag her off. "Come on Miss Bats! Lets go have some fun!"

I dunnoooooooo, did you try taking one of Kokoro-chan's masks, again? If you're sad, take the happiness one!

"But I foooound that one. It practically fell into my lap!" She didn't seem at all off-put by talking to herself, her own third eye drifting forward to delicately bump the new Koishi's in greeting.

[romancing]

Really? She won't let me anywhere near her, these days. Oh, oh, maybe the duplicity confused her! If we work as a team, we can do it!

[ DO WHAT, PRECISELY? ]

I might actually be able to drag Satori into this madness...

[koishi_komeiji]

"I bet we could, but why would we? We would just make her super grumpy I'm feeling much better already. I bet we could have a lot more fun if we went to the village. The school will be full now. It's been entirely too long since I got to ply with the human children!"

Certainly an alternative, but no less trouble causing considering what they would be interrupting should they go.

"Or maybe we could go see what Sis is up to! I bet she's making lunch right about now. We shouldn't think too much on an empty stomach."
