I was initially here to speak to the Pest. [There's a smirk on that snake face of hers.] Now that you're here, perhaps you could deliver a message for me to the others.

Many of you believed you could fight me and keep me back from what it is I'm really after--but you forget. I recognize certain faces, so it doesn't matter where Mari has fled to.

I know she's no longer at Nexus, and it won't be long until I have her under my control... [On purpose, she lets that statement hang, at first.] Unless you really don't have a clue that she carries the very power and life source of Nexus herself...

I have my ways of enticing her to pay attention to what I want. Not much in the black arts are needed, but enough to keep the Pest in line...

If I could just influence her enough to make my course of action work out, then I could finally have the Nexus, and get rid of that bothersome Xel'lotath once and for all.

Mari has the power to take Xel’lotath, Xargin, and Sephiroth out. But does she know how to wield it? I highly doubt that. She’s human! And we both know how sensitive and touchy she can be...

[Vertigo grins.] However, it’s not Mari’s fault that Nexus chose her as the vessel. I shall educate your friend on how to help solve our problems.

Ahh, but we both know I won’t. And, I do have my ways of getting others to see it my way...

[Her mind-molding power. She wonders if anyone mentioned to Zack about the time she had control over Jake, even for a time after a deal with that bothersome David Harris failed miserably. Or how Dean’s memories were temporarily messed up in the first place.]

[She smirks at the foolish human. Her eyes briefly glow golden yellow before returning to their violet color. Her voice in his head would sound slightly amused.]

Why do you approach me? [Vertigo psychically reads his mind a bit. She skims over some of his memories in particular--because she can.]

I'm not someone you can capture into a small sphere. Whatever creatures you may send in any attempt won't be able to return to their own spheres if they're stone statues.

[James should probably leave at this point, for Vertigo's a vicious one. She could kill or enslave him, and/or destroy his Poke'mon if she feels like it.]
