So, you've decided that I'm the better. Well, that's one decision I can't disagree with. The other isn't a wholly unpleasant fellow but a bit trite, I'll agree. He's me, but certainly not me.

Overall I'm quite glad to be pulled from the catacombs for a while. It's a might brighter in your headspace, though I'll admit, I really had quite a send-off. I'd rather keep that memory, and if you take it from me, it might get unpleasant for the both of us.

Oh yes...things always get interesting when the muns are involved.

So I've gathered. But I am known for making things interesting myself, from time to time. It should be a very - interesting - relationship.

Really? Well, you've got me curious. How do you make things interesting?

I haunt an opera. So to speak. It's my home, and my domain.

Haunt? You mean like a ghost? That is interesting indeed.

[darkmaestro]

Yes, like a ghost. It's quite fun at times, and there's rarely a dull moment in it. One must keep up appearances after all - [He smirks.] - or lack thereof.

And I assume it doesn't get lonely? I feel like I'm haunting the world sometimes. Just wandering from one place to another, not really a part of the world.

It....does. Get lonely. Perhaps I'd have a chance to meet others if I wandered, but I can't, not really. At least you get to see new places, yes?

Well, it's not the places I'm interested in. I only wander to search for one person.

Rumor has it that you're a musician. Might I have heard of you?

I am indeed a musician, Monseiur. But I highly doubt you've heard of me in that context.

What about yourself?

Only a simple collector.

Ah, but that begs another question. A collector of what?

Art, mainly, although anything that catches my eye.

Hopefully that is not the only way to gain your interest. I find the ear a more discerning sense than sight, when it comes to beauty.

Perhaps. Though not always.

So...you mentioned music earlier, and "art" is a rather broad term. What part of the musical realm do you collect?

...I thought myself and my roommate were the only ones who remembered this.

Memories are the most precious thing we have, sometimes it is all we have to hold on to.

[Her memories of her father had sustained her when she felt there was little else, just him and the music.]

I only recently discovered this gem, and have wondered where it's been all my life

Exactly.

[And precisely because, as he once said, he'd been twice touched by an angel and he doesn't want to lose that. Ever.]

There's no telling where time will take me, but I would have my memories, for better or worse, remain exactly as they were in those final moments. It's what literary device is meant to preserve.

But if you are here, then perhaps I may have found the single exception.

I saw it on tv first run, now have it on dvd. I love obscure things too much

You have taught me how much of life is not set and is within our reach to change. You've crafted me as an artist would, and for that I am thankful. Perhaps this is another chance for you to craft your own life here.

I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set her free. [He didn't care if that wasn't the exact quote because it was true. She had the beauty within, but as he had said, it had needed training. And now she was divine.]

I hope there is that chance. The opportunities here are endless, after all.

[She could listen to him endlessly, his voice was such a soothing thing. It was deep and rich and resonant, it could lull her to sleep or lift her soul to the heavens. She wanted so very much to be able to touch others with her voice as he did. And the words, as always his choices were elegant and sublime, he told stories with his choice of words as much as the narrative itself.]

Chances are what we have in life, each breath, each waking morning is a new chance. My life was given a new direction when I arrived at the opera. Each day has brought me more than I had ever thought I would have.

[She makes him smile, gives him happiness just hearing those words. While it never shows well on what little there is to see of his face, his eyes shine with every emotion.]

Then that has been my salvation: bringing that to you. I would have been happy with that alone, but perhaps I will see you truly take wing on your own, instead of dreaming it.

You give me too much credit Maestro, everything I have now I owe to you. {Well to him and to Phillipe for sending her to Paris in the first place.] With you as my guide I sometimes feel there is nothing I cannot accomplish. Though to be fair i think my courage is borrowed for you.

Courage, is traveling alone, all the way to Paris, and believing you are capable of anything. I gave you the tools to unlock what was already there, but you saw it through.

[And oh! How marvelous her voice had been that night! Soaring just for him! He should wish to hear it again, but knows how mad it drives him. Even now the sound of her voice, her smile, it all makes him wish he could take her back and keep her safely locked away from the Hell up above.]

Perhaps, our providence might see fit to let me hear you again. That second chance to get it right, perhaps the first of many.
