About an AMA Thread with his "Uncle"

There's no way that I could do it. Step forward and claim the Iron Throne? I'm a bastard! Bastard's don't win thrones, we get ignored and forgotten about and try to live out a normal life for as long as we can. I can't just... I can't just expect people to fight for me because my blood relates me to a dead King that just grew fat on the Throne, and slept with more women than his own wife.

They've been fightin' too long as it is. Fightin's almost over - they don't need a new round startin' up. The dragon stories are that - stories! An' the Whitewalkers...

How could he ask me to do it? Make a claim for the Throne? I couldn't...

But they've taken over the North now. And the North will fight to win itself back, that's what he meant, right? And then there's some... girl from a family that they fought against because te king was mad and wanted everyone dead but now the girl's coming back and...

Seven hells.

I might... I might have to do this, mun.

A Targaryen. My... I was told that the story of her havin' dragons might not be a story.

I think you're very brave. (Or maybe he doesn't know much about King's Landing...?) I feel I should warn you, however. King's Landing isn't filled with people who want to do what is right or just. I'm sure there are some, but -

I haven't seen them sitting on the Iron Throne.

I'm not brave. I'm just... stuck. [Being informed you're the only member of your "House" (who knew he had one of those) left and that means you've got to go do this stuff... Yeah, stuck fits]

You won't only face the Targaryen and her dragons. There are the Lannisters to contend with too.

I don't know how I'm meant to do this, but apparently I've got to. Honour, or some daft reason like that. This is what comes from wanting to know your family.

I would like to see dragons again. As for the Whitewalkers, the men of the Night's Watch will kill them. Jon is brave and will kill them and protect the North.

I dunno if I'd like to see the dragons. If she's planning on comin' to take the throne, won't they be ready to set us all on fire?

And my Un... I was told that the Whitewalkers, the Night's Watch don't have enough to fight against them. Or know how.

Yes, they do. My brother is out there right now defending the Wall and the North. They can protect us. I know they can.

Okay, so how do the stories say Whitewalkers get defeated?

I don't want to be burnt either, yet I still want to see the dragons. [Because she was young and innocent and dragons were awesome.]

The Whitewalkers aren't mentioned much in the stories. There are a few but we're told that they don't exist. They're supposed to have bright blue eyes and walk like the dead.

Yes, it will be, if they ever get to Westeros from across the sea. [Did dragons fly across seas?]

Of course they could. Dragons fire is really powerful. The Targaryens used it during the war at Harrenhal.

Dragon fire. [She was in awe of that word but also terrified. What if the dragon moved north to attack Winterfell. That would be bad.]
