Aye, it's me, love. You look like you've just seen a ghost. [He placed a hand on her shoulder and gave an affectionate squeeze.]

I wish that I could but I have to stay where Robert goes.

(She trembles under the affection, having grown unused to it. Every time anyone touches her lately, it's...confusing...and sometimes brutal.)

Maybe I have. (A ghost she owes an explanation. He is the only one that can absolve her of what she did.)

What? Who won't listen? You're not making much sense, love. [Ned was troubled as to why she was acting this way. This wasn't like the Sansa he knew. Had the Lannisters said something to her?]

Has Joffrey or the queen said something to you? They haven't upset you, have they?

King Robert. (She knows she must sound mad to him, so she forces herself to slow down and breathe.) He won't listen to anyone. You try...

[Ned nodded at her words then swallowed hard at her last. His eyes ghosting over her small, abused body. He felt anger rise in him and felt like killing the man who did this to his precious daughter.]

Gods, Sansa.....which bastard did this to you? [No one would hurt his family without him knowing. This was wrong. All of it. She was no tavern whore to be abused when people wanted; she was his daughter, a lady of Winterfell. He pulled her into a strong hug and closed his eyes out of sadness and anger.]

(She is ashamed to show him. He is the only one aside from her handmaidens and Maester Pycelle to see the wounds. There are more on her back, but he gets the point. She drops her skirt back into place and bites her lip.)

Meryn Trant. (How can she forget his name and face?) He enjoys it.

(She stiffens in the embrace - a sign that she isn't used to affection (not anymore) - but the familiarity helps her relax. Soon she is returning the hug, shaking.)

I know not of his name. [Was he a new guard for the Gold Cloaks or one of Joffrey's pets like the Hound?]

He sounds a sadist bastard if there were any. It's not right, hitting a girl as young as you. Not my daughter. [Ned felt like storming into Robert's throne room....no, Joffrey's now and slapping the boy around the face.]

Sansa....no one will touch you while I'm still here. [He furrowed his brow and thought of another thing, since this was his future.]

Do you know of Cersei and Jaime's relationship?

He was added to the Kingsguard after... (King Robert's death and...his death. She presses her lips together in a thin line.) He thinks to punish me for how you and Robb opposed him.

(But in Trant's case, he is just sadistic.)

...you know of it? (This is surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be? Joffrey looks nothing like King Robert.) The Lannisters do not seem sane. I wish I could say it shocked me.

I questioned Cersei about it not long ago and she seemed to want to brush the whole affair under the carpet. Jon Arryn was murdered due to the fact he knew about their relationship. [Ned found the whole thing to be wrong. Immorally wrong and rather disgusting.]

They are not of our blood and not our ways. Honour does not grace their house, only greed and incest it seems. How did you found out? [Now, he was curious.]

(She pales and frowns sadly. Another soul ripped from Westeros because he knew too much. She wonders how many victims have fallen prey to Lannister ambition.)

He was a good man, wasn't he? (Like her father.) Joffrey, Tommen and Myrcella look nothing like King Robert. Rumors have begun to spread and Queen Cersei does nothing to quell them. I think everyone knows, but she is powerful enough to keep them at bay.

Aye, he was an honourable man. As honourable as they come. [A good man and Ned felt deeply when he died.]

I found out that all of Robert's sons and bastards had black of hair. None were ever born blond, so that got me thinking. All of Cersei's children are that of her and her twin brother. [Talk about wanting to keep it in the family.]

Also.....Bran. It was Jaime who pushed our Bran to the ground.

They want honorable men dead. (Maybe because honorable men interfered with their plans. No one with half a conscience could stand idly by and watch them harm innocent people.)

I thought one blonde child might be possible, but three? (She shakes her head.) Every Baratheon has dark hair - bastard or not.

He will find Jon there. (Yes. Jon. Not Snow or some other lesser title. She has regrets concerning how she treated her siblings.) I haven't heard any news...

He saved me numerous times. He isn't like his brother. If he had been there, Bran wouldn't have fallen.

Bran should never have been pushed by Jaime. For that we can hate the Lannister's for their lack of morals and decency.
