On Possible Apping to Ryslig [Shalquoir|Dark Souls 2]
[Not much to see here. Just a cat. Oh, but she has a voice. A lilting sort of voice with just the slightest hint of amusement in every word. Because she is amused.]
Ooohh... Mundane. It's charming, if a misnomer, as I find you to be anything but mundane. However, that is neither here nor there, is it?
I do find the idea that you would be giving me a new form only for it to become yet another one to be rather intriguing, but... You still have a long, looong way to go before any of that can happen, hm? [Her big, fluffy tail swishes as she looks particularly pleased. Maybe she likes the fact that I have to suffer. Probably. I mean she IS a CAT.]
We will play it by ear, won't we? I like that plan.

A cat?
[Ryslig is a place of beasts, not common housepets. Then again, there's nothing common about the animal before Vengarl. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that any animal capable of human speech likely has a few more tricks up its nonexistent sleeve.]
I suppose you would have no problem with a monster's role in the food chain, then.
no subject
Mhh, no. I suppose I wouldn't! A cat is naturally a predator, after all. Of course I do have to admit that most of my diet does not consist of anything with the ability to reason with me.
[If a cat could smile, that's what she would be doing. In lieu of being able to smile, she gets up to brush ever-so-gently against his leg, turning those big blues up at him and looking rather innocent. And adorable, if you asked her.]
I take it that it's rather harder to adjust for a human. After all, I'd never want to eat another cat.[Well. Maybe she would. But she supposed that depended entirely upon her mood. Cats are rather capricious!]

No, I suppose it wouldn't. [Although Vengarl suspects that the ability to reason would do very little to deter her from eating a mouse or a bird. Cat aren't known for being kind or compassionate creatures, after all.]
Some adjust better than others. I have not yet gained the hunger, though I worry I will soon enough.
[When he does, however, Vengarl fully intends to starve to death. He's spent too much of his life already as a mindless killing machine. He isn't about to turn himself into one willingly.]

I'm sure you'll come to terms with it at some point. Or otherwise you will perish. [It's not really as if it concerns her. Still, she can't help a light laugh as she sits down at his feet and begins to clean herself.]
It's strange how humans are only opposed to killing and eating things when they begin to speak their language. Don't you think?

[It's said without hesitation. Vengarl knows he'll have to do some killing in Ryslig - he's already killed one person, and with the upcoming plot there are doubtlessly more that he'll have to cut down. But he'll be damned if he resigns himself to some sort of monster again, that subsists on human flesh.
Besides, he should have died ages ago.]
I think you greatly overestimate the minds of men, cat.
[People kill things that speak all the time - people kill other people all the time. Most are hesitant to eat another human at first, of course, but from what Vengarl has seen in Ryslig, it isn't that much harder to get them to eat than it is to get them to kill.]

Dying of hunger is a quite slow and painful death! With plenty of chance for your resolve to slip. Why prolong it when you could just fall on your sword? [She gives a small, knowing sort of chuckle.]
But then, that wouldn't really solve your problem, would it?
