A Kushiel OC Decides to Speak
I applaud your enthusiasm, truly. I look forward to meeting all sorts of new people, despite the difficulties that would most likely entail in this business; I am well aware of the various ventures we muses are thrown into, and I cannot say that I am afraid.
The experience will be good for the both of us, and as you have desired in the past, it will be a return to your roots.
Have fun with it. Blessed Elua knows that I will.

[not that he's necessarily disagreeing with you. but then, that in itself is interesting.]

[ Why yes, there is a second meaning to that, but it's not untrue in surface context. ] I cannot speak for other people.

[a shake of his head.] Myself, I'm never too eager to give up that much control. I tend to get impulsive. And impulsiveness never was a good look for me.

Impulsiveness has its uses, and I doubt much would look bad on you, but you know yourself as much to think so. Few do.

And that's mighty kind of you to say, I could say much the same of you, I imagine. [is he talking about the comment on his looks? his self-awareness? who's to say, really?]
I will admit that impulsiveness has its own level of unpredictability, and that on its own can be more than a little bit useful.

[ He shrugs lightly. ]
You might surprise yourself as you are starting to do with me.

And what about yourself? Any old loves you're hoping to find time for in this venture? 'sides being driven to the ground, I mean.

I was always giving people the slip as a child.

Never let them catch anything 'sides your shadow and you should do just fine around here, I imagine.

I'm pretty sure that I should have envied you, in the time before my life changed.

Well. Likely more along your taste than mine, as far as I understand it.

No one should ever lose that choice. But you mentioned things changing in your life?

[ And, to the soberer part... ]
Sometimes, you don't know how bad things are when you're in the middle of them. Only when you discover how much else you can be does that perception change.
[ Sometimes, however, you knew exactly what was out of reach, and then it hurt so much more. ]

I have not had the sort of turn in luck that would put me in such a position. A pity you were not born and raised in Terre d'Ange.

You made your own luck - or your own blessings, as far as I can understand. Which is definitely a great and amazing thing. And I... I possibly would have liked it, if I had been. Just one man in the crowd.

And you found yourself a love that most only find in storybooks; we are each blessed differently, and perhaps not equally, but both blessed by our gods nonetheless.

[ Though the last bit made him rear up, slightly, his eyes large and... worried? ] Does it seem that I do not appreciate the love he's granted me? I did not mean it that way.
Yes, we are blessed. I merely meant that I had much to learn, before it could be love, and not... a game of attraction without proper... worthiness.

[ But then he ducked his head, slightly. ]
I think if I were to believe myself to be playing a game, I would have to assume I was his equal. But, though we are bound - first against our will, then otherwise - and though he has chosen to not discard me, nor would I ever knowingly betray him... it is not the same. I live, he plays. Sometimes I've been the pawn and sometimes what can never be sacrificed. And he hasn't played me false, or misused me. So I do enjoy things as they are.
[ Wider smile, too. ]
Besides, I would not want to play against him. By his side, all is so much better. Let others oppose him. At their peril.
