Voicetesting X-Men OC, looking at a few games and yet still searching

Well, I guess I have to give you credit. You went ahead and did it. Not sure why you did it, but here I am.

So you have two games you're looking at. I guess between that and making this account that's three bad decisions you've made today. Look, I'm not the kind of person who goes in for this stuff. I mean, I appreciate the effort. I guess I can see the appeal. Take a guy like me, throw him somewhere new and it's all coming up golden. I think I read a couple of books like that when I was little. But that's not the way things work where I'm from. Those kind of happy endings are just -  they're for a certain kind of guy. And they have an expiration date, which I'm past.

How exactly are you going to pitch me to these places? You did great on the profile making me out to be less of a jackass than I am. Thing is, people will pry. And that's when I get struck out as an option. I messed up. I messed up as a mutant, I messed up as a son, I messed up as a student. No amount of trying to change is going to make me into the hero you want me to be.

'Cause, and this is the truth, I never wanted to be a hero or any of that glitzy shit. I just wanted more than the nothing I got.

Six months in juvie. [It's a non-answer, but it's technically answering her question without lying. He shrugs at comment about fighting for happy endings and defaults to lighting up, because underage smoking is just kind of a thing in his neighborhood.] That really should tell you a lot about the kind of person I am. Or've become. I don't do philosophical, I just look out for number one at this point.

No, my life is too stupid for it to have a nice, neat ending like that. I'm not betting on this doing me in.

If they could've proved things more definitively I'd probably be in prison. If West Virginia didn't have a law on the books saying you can't try anyone under 15 as an adult, that probably wouldn't've stopped them. [Yes, that horrible accent that sounds like the New Englander accent and the Southern one had a baby has an origin point. At least it's a mild one.]

[There's a special kind of silence that follows that. Not awkward, just resigned, that kind of feeling when one realizes they're looking up at the bottom of the barrel and they dug the hole.

Rough. Happens sometimes... but often than people'd like to admit.

It's not 'rough'. It was wrong, it just wrecked the guy's family, and his friends aren't doing great after seeing it. I ruined lives. Before that I was just a loser with bad grades and zero ambition left after running that well dry. But that was a hard turn in the wrong direction.

My mun has these big ideas for me, call it a redemption story. I'm not seeing it happening. You don't go back from what I did and go be heroic. We're not living in a fantasy novel.

And what am I supposed to do, exactly? What turns that around and makes it all okay? I'm not asking to be a contrary asswipe, either, I'm lookin' for an answer, here.

First thing ya gotta understand... there's a difference between havin' killed and bein' a killer. One's somethin' that happened, the other's a mindset. And ya don't strike me as havin' the mindset.

So don't forget about it. But use it. Use it ta remind yerself why ya gotta learn control, why ya gotta be better.
