I don't have any objection to this. I'd much rather be doing my job, of course, but there's a great deal to learn here too.
Infact, I'd say this is an excellent opportunity to teach as well. I am certain there are many eagers minds here, waiting to be filled with knowledge. Whilst I'm here, it couldn't hurt!
Now, where did I put my coffee...?
[It's in your hand, Hubbard.]
So it is! I never can stop myself making it, even now. I just can't think straight without the mug in my hand, you know...

...Uh how exactly are you going to drink that?
no subject
I unfortunately cannot. Old habits die hard and I find myself making cup after cup, letting them go cold and pouring it away. A dreadful waste, really, but it happens before I even realise.

[She tilts her head, not exactly understanding why this robot guy feels the need to drink in the first place, it's almost as if he was something else to begin with.]
Maybe you should run a coffee shop instead of being a teacher...then at least your coffee wouldn't go to waste!

I couldn't do that... I don't imagine there is anything I want to do more than teach. That aside, I am not especially good at it. Instant, black, one sugar. That's about the extent of my experience.

You must be really good at teaching if you can't bring yourself to do anything else. Kind of like me and my knack for getting into trouble.

[Newsflash, Hubbard. They don't have awesome movies in Dragonsbayne. Poor girl's never been subjected to the likes of Moulin Rouge or The Great Gatsby.]

Don't worry about it. He just once did a speech that was turned into a song, filled with really great advice, I was quoting that.

[She blushes a little.] Sorry, I should probably mention that I don't really know much about that kind of thing. My world doesn't have any modern conveniences. Apparently apart from all the magic we use, we're still stuck in the dark ages

[thrusts an arm out, ready to lunge for it if you're in danger of drinking it. HE'S GOT BAD EXPERIENCES WITH ROBOTS WHO GO NUTS WITH COFFEE OKAY]

Young man, I don't know if it's escaped your noticed but I am lacking a mouth.

Apology accepted, by the way. I take it you've had some sort of prior trouble on the subject?

it took his coffee and drank it. Komurin then went haywire and started capturing us Exorcists. All the while singing "surgery, surgery." [he shudders] So many drills . . .

[Yes the mechanical man is talking about the limitations of robots. Because technically he is not one.]
You weren't harmed were you, young man?
no subject
Ah, well-- A little, but not too badly. [he smiles reassuringly] I've had worse. It was mostly just traumatizing.
I'm sorry, but . . . aren't you a robot with a sense of judgement yourself?
no subject
[Through the use of D.T Teleport, a wavy green circle appears from which a blackboard and chalk emerge. He clatters down some of the points he talks about, in a neat diagram, with some extra etymological origins added.]
The world robot stems from a word implying slavery or specifically hard work. This was further refined to mean a machine that performs complicated work automatically- a device that is operated by a user is therefore not a robot. I am mechanical bodied human.

I was called an Automatic Intelligence. I'm Atomic Robo by the way.
no subject
Oh, I like that! Somewhat better than Artificial Intelligence. After all, artificial tends to also mean 'false' and I'm sure your thoughts are as real as anyones. Why, an Automatic Intelligence could describe a human.
[He puts out a hand.]
Call me Hubbard! Prof- No, Doctor Hubbard if we're being formal.
no subject
[Robo takes the hand and shakes it.]
If we're being formal I guess you could call me Dr. Atomic Robo Tesla, but most people just call me Robo.
Professor? What subjects do you teach?
no subject
[It takes him a couple of seconds to overcome the otherwise impossible to detect embarrassment of what he says next. Because it's true, but it sounds so silly!]
As for my subject... everything, I suppose. I had a rather expansive curriculum and many different schools to teach them in. Though at present, it's all defunct so back to Doctor it is for now.
[When you're the only educator on the planet trying to uplift everyone from a second Stone Age and don't need to sleep... well, let's just say he really did teach everything.]
