What did I say about not wanting to go anywhere? Instead, not only are you sending me somewhere you're sending me somewhere that's in the middle of a war and doesn't support tech. This is kind of the opposite of not sending me anywhere.

You say that now…[He's trying to make it into a joke but no. No he's actually pretty worried even though he's doing his best not to show it.] Who knows what they're capable of.

[He reaches for a shoulder, squeezing it gently.]

Yeah, I know. [And then everything changed when the Jabberwelp attacked When Tadashi squeezes his shoulder he can probably feel that Hiro's a little tense but hey. Tadashi's going to be there and it's going to be fine. Ish.]

It's still gonna be really weird seeing you again. Doesn't help that they're separating us either.

[The tense feel under his hand makes him falter a little before he smiles, dropping his hand entirely and putting it into his blazer pocket with a shrug.]

[Tadashi shakes his head.]

[Nooope nope come back here. He's not exactly leaning into Tadashi's side but he's scooting just a little closer. You know. To make sure he's actually not-dead.]

I'm adopting one of the imps. [And there's a grin that follows because…well actually no, Hiro's 100% serious about that.] Like a lab assistant. They might be more useful than the fairies you get to deal with.

[He notices, a little surprised by Hiro scooting closer but smiling a bit when he's reminded of when they were younger. The comment makes him raise an eyebrow before he shakes his head with a shrug.]

They're too tiny for lab assistants anyway. Bet they'll like the donuts Aunt Cass taught me to make though.

[Good thing they have sweet tooths. Tadashi's going to spoil them probably.]

Probably. But you're going to make them for me too, right? [It's not secret that out of the two of them, Tadashi knows what he's doing and Hiro's probably been banned from their kitchen.] The donuts are going to be too big for them and then they'll go to waste, so maybe they should just go to us instead.

[Tadashi's going to grow a tiny fairy army charmed by his Seelie-ness and pastries isn't he. Typical.]

Fine, but you're gonna be running errands for me since they're too small to make of any use. I'm not having you lounge around getting fat like Mochi.

[He's going to give Hiro as much time as he needs, even if it's going to hurt a bit watching his brother shy away. He knows it's going to take time, just like it took time for him to recover from their parents. And yes, tiny fairy army is quite possible.]

And whose fault is it that Mochi's fat? [Um. That would be both of them, technically, but he's not sure how he feels about being an errand boy.] What kind of errands are you even going to have anyway? I thought the world's supposed to be huge.

[Hey man it hurts just as much for him as it probably does Tadashi. If Baymax were around he'd probably diagnose Hiro with "disbelief" and "nerves" and recommended treatment would be "prolonged exposure in Tadashi's presence." But it's not every day you get to hang out with your apparently raised from the dead brother so there's that. Maybe it'll be just like Tadashi never left.]

I was thirteen. Besides, you and Aunt Cass feed him as much as I do.

[Unlike the little brother, the big brother hasn't always been the smartest crayon in the box, and even though Mochi was technically his cat, he seemed to stick around their aunt the most so who's the real culprit? Inside, Tadashi is hoping it'll be just like he never ran into that building. Outside, he knows it'll take longer than that.]

Not even close, big brother. It's not my plate Mochi's always after. [But that also didn't stop him from contributing to the problem. Bribing the cat was pretty much the only way to get him to cooperate.

The thing about it, of course, is that Hiro's not actually going to tell anybody what he's really thinking about the whole thing, least of all Tadashi. He'll figure it out as they go along. There are a lot of complicated strings when it comes to Tadashi now and the things that happened after his death, and now they're going to some fairy world? Great. Just great.]

What if I trained the imps to be your errand-things instead?

Nah, I know Aunt Cass is the one who's always feeding him.

[He set up cameras, little bro. The house is BUGGED. It's so much easier to pretend he never died, but he knows he can't do that to Hiro or ask him to play along like that. His brother's too smart, and it'll hurt him eventually. Hurt them both. Tadashi can't help raising an eyebrow though, laughing at that.]

That'd kiiiiind of defeat the purpose of me giving you errands so you don't lounge around doing nothing, Hiro.

Ever think Aunt Cass feels like she's raising three of us? [Maybe just talking about Tadashi in the present-tense will help prep him for what's coming in Drabwurld. It's an idea, at least. Tadashi's right though; it's easier, but it's not right.]

I don't see how. You want me to use my brain for something, don't you? Building isn't the same as lounging.
