Look, mun, I've come a long way from being that girl crying in a hospital bed. I mean, I'm old enough to drink now. Not that I do ...often.

I know things now. Enough to know that I've still got a lot to learn, but everybody's got to start somewhere, right? And we both know that I'm going to use anything I learn to help people, that's just how it works.

Anyway, I've got Norah as a compass, can't really go wrong with her around.

Speaking from experience, the first step is always the toughest.

Yeah, yeah it was. But I don't regret it, don't think I can.

It's not a terrible thing if you do. People seem to think progress and regret are mutually exclusive, I'm not sure that's true.

I don't think so either. One of the things my mom taught me was to live with no regrets. which doesn't just mean not doing things you will regret, but not regretting the things you do.

I've had a few, but then again I'm a lot older than you. [Laughs.]

You shouldn't regret your experiences, you should learn from them. And you can always learn, no matter how far ahead you are.

Let's just say sometimes there are lessons you're better off not learning.

Well, I'll just hope I don't have to learn any of those.

Though I probably will, everyone's got at least one of those to learn.

We're on different sides of the country then - I'm in Los Angeles - but if you ever need someone to talk to, my mun keeps saying I need to meet more people.

Mine says the same thing, but it's because I'm new. Apparently I'm just practice, but I have a feeling I'll stick around.

I keep trying to get mine to get rid of me, but apparently not. Then again I can't complain - coming back this time I met my boyfriend.

Wow, that's got to be kind of trippy.

I mean, unless it's a new boyfriend and not an ex coming back around.

Nothing wrong with that. Some of us need an actual excuse to get girly.

I'm in my 40's, I stopped being girly a long time ago, or so she says.

Huh, I didn't know there was an upper age limit.

I suppose it's part of being a "responsible adult."

Didn't know those were mutually exclusive states, either. But I'm technically still just a kid, so maybe I haven't gotten that rulebook yet.

See, I have a kid, so I admit to being constantly worried about screwing him up.

I'm pretty sure that's just normal. My dad worries about the same thing even now that I'm in college.

Dads and daughters is a unique dynamic. My dad was always protective of me, though granted I was also an only child.

My mun, on the other hand, just threw me into a drunk texting meme for apparently no other reason than her own amusement.

I'm just waiting for her to start throwing me at those, I've seen what she puts the others up to, and I'm not really sure I'm dreading it like they keep telling me I should. It'll be an adventure, right?

If it makes you feel better, mine just throws me out on larks and doesn't actually use anything that happens in them as part of my canon.

She just does it because memes are a really good way to meet people, and especially with me not having a fandom, it's hard to meet people.

I can understand that, I'm technically in the same boat, since I'm from a single episode of the thing, and then plus five years, give or take, she's not entirely sure how old I was supposed to be on the episode, she's guessing.

Not using what happens, though, that's kind of rude.

It's a good idea. It means she can play me off of anyone in any scenario without freaking out that she might mess up any other scenario. And then if she comes across a great storyline or RP partner, then she can take it out of memes to a PSL.

It also means I'm not held responsible when she thinks it's funny to have me drunk texting.

Ah, well that perspective makes it make sense. I don't know, though, sometimes it's the chance meetings that change things for the better.

That's how I met my boyfriend. Right here in this community actually.

That's ... actually kind of neat. I'm not sure where she plans on trying me out, since she keeps saying she's 'given up' on most meme communities.

Mine just surfs around and looks for posts or muses that seem like a good match, not so much communities.

Yeah, that's probably what's going to happen with me, at least for a while. Since I'm apparently just 'practice' until she gets one of the main characters to stick.

My mun was always a Nate fan, but who wasn't.

Yeah, mine likes him well enough, but she's done playing people who are smarter than her (so she says). It'll probably be Parker, since I think she's the one who's already lurking.

But knowing how my mun is she'll get more than one.

That's how it goes. My mun had some success with me so she made two more muses and of course they didn't stick, so she's back to just messing around with me.

Yeah, mine does that a lot. She gets more flops than successes, I think, but it's hard to say.
