I guess I can't deny that when you've been helping aunt Cass pretty much raise me since I was three. And I don't remember saying I would always use my brain for good. Bot-fighting itself isn't illegal, bro.

[But he's teasing. When Hiro hugs him like that, his brow rises in surprise... and then he huffs a little smile. Tadashi hugs him back, fondly ruffling his messy hair.]

[But aunt Cass isn't what is important right now. Tadashi is. The fact that he's here and Hiro has the chance to say and do things with him he didn't get to back home. The hug lingers possibly a bit longer than Tadashi is used to, but he at least mostly holds back the threat of tears.]

[It's an expression. And ironic, because. Robot.]

[Yeah, Tadashi gets that. He knows what happens to him, or rather, what happened to him, and he feels bad enough for leaving his brother all alone. It never should have happened like that. But he's here now, and that's all that matters.]

I mean, the armor makes him less huggable, but that's okay.

[There's a lot that they both probably regret. A lot Tadashi will miss out on, but here they can at least try make up for that.]

Less huggable and non-threatening was kind of the point, as I tried to explain to him when he commented on 'undermining his non-threatening demeanor' or whatever. I just figured, well, I know I'm not great at fighting, being physical, but I could teach him to help make up for that.

[Not quite the same as having Tadashi rescue him from being bullied at school but it's close enough.]

Besides, Baymax even admitted. Flying totally makes him a better healthcare companion.

[He smirks a little, giving a shrug.]

I designed Baymax a little too well, I guess. He must have been pretty confused when you started giving him karate lessons and armor.

[Tadashi half-smiles fondly down at his little brother. Hiro had always been the genius of the family, not him, but he wasn't big in the physical department. He'd get his growth spurt like Tadashi eventually.]

I'm glad you've got Baymax. If he only helped you, well... that would've been enough for me.

He was. But he seems to get into it now. He also learned to fistbump. You forgot to program that, by the way.

[It's so easy to fall back on the half teasing. That excitement of sharing projects with Tadashi like this.]

He did. He is helping, I mean. A lot. Not just me, but...everyone.

[Playing hero, helping not just him but the others through the loss. Saving people. Maybe not necessarily in the way Tadashi had imagined, but helping all the same.]

Man, can't believe I forgot the fistbump. I'm such a bonehead.

[He half-grins, totally teasing back. The fistbump was totally their thing anyway, of course.]

[Even if it should have been Tadashi teaching him, programming him instead. Hiro tries not to let his thoughts go down that track, simply relieved and glad to have his brother here at all.]

[He is so proud and excited for a brief moment before that reminds him of the portal and it turns more bittersweet.]

[There's a laugh there, and it almost - almost feels like all is right and normal again. Like Tadashi never ran into the building to save the professor.]
