On a new journal name

Okay, I'll admit that the new journal name isn't terrible. At least it isn't insulting. Like all the past journals.

I'll have you know my mum has wonderful taste for journal names. [ A pause. ] For the most part. I mean, she was nice enough to give your older counterpart 'modern_holmes'.

Then again, I did have to convince her not to go with something that had 'pill' in it.

That really just proves my point, you know.

[Conan shudders at the idea of any version of him going around with a journal that practically advertised what had happened to him. ]

You have to admit though, that none of your journal names are lies. You really do spoil the fun, after all.

They also made sense. "Deduction geek" suits your Holmes obsession. "Spoils fun" fits since that's something you do frequently. And "love drama moron" works two ways with your tendency for dramatics as well as your drama-worthy love life.

But this one just seems random. What does "east" have to do with being a detective?

The Press had some names for me. I was sometimes called the Detective of the East, because I mostly worked in the Tokyo area. Just like there are other teen detectives who work in other areas.

Oi! If you don't want detectives to show up, stop being a criminal. And just who is it that challenges us to show up?

[WOAH. Suddenly a guy dressed in white appears. Who apparently is a criminal, yet is acting rather casual towards Conan. Dairine leans down to Conan's level.]

[However Kid's answer also brings up more questions.]

Is that so? How do the police and adult detectives feel about this? I'd be annoyed if a bunch of upstarts started stealing my work.

Well, what can I say? I do love a challenge, and as much as I adore Nakamori-keibu, he just doesn't have the flare you do, Tantei-kun~!

[ He grins at the two of them. ]

Besides, we work so well together.

We're not friends.

I still plan on sending you to prison, you know.

[Dairine glances between the two. A criminal who challenges detectives yet has worked with Conan before... there's only one person the short detective has mentioned who fits that description.]

[ At the sound of his name, KID's attention goes back to the young lady. ]

I am. [ He sweeps into a deep bow. ] Phantom Thief 1412, although most know me as Kaitou KID. [ As he straightens he flashes her a grin, glancing over at Conan. ] Have you been talking about me, Tantei-kun~?
