Canon is Need For Speed. Shelby wonders what her friends will think.
First of all - just because I'm with Frank doesn't mean I'm working with him. He wouldn't let me. He's too protective.
But that doesn't mean I won't step up to protect him, and I don't think it's as out of character as you think it is. Tobey and his team hatched a whole revenge scheme when he got out of prison. And Dom would be the first to tell you he's done a lot of things for his family. We fight for the people we love, and that includes literally.
I think they'd be more upset that they missed the wedding. Hell, you want to critique something, how about you find a way for me to make that up to my dad? He's still upset with me.
