Voicetesting prior to an app

You are incredibly prepared, and most of the initial work is done. You need to calm down and press forward. Your work will be self-evident.

Besides. Who wouldn't want to recruit me? Obviously, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Too bad she doesn't have your confidence, huh?

That's a logical way of looking at it.

Not everyone's capable of being so rational. It's a pretty irrational world we exist in, it's pretty easy to get lost in that instead of clearly looking at what needs to happen.

And that's great but that's not how most people operate.

You ever read Kierkegaard?

Okay, so he talks about like, how life has infinite possibilities. And that's great, that everything is possible.

But then people get stuck with that in one of two ways. Everything's possible, right? So they start worrying that they could fuck things up in infinite ways. Or they get caught up worrying about things that might not ever happen. And I think that's what happens to a lot of people, when they seem to be lacking confidence. They're caught up in one or the other.

She might be worried about screwing it up somehow, or worried about some crazy thing that could happen but isn't going to happen.

And yet we do, because we're irrational creatures. Ruled by our emotions and the fear of the unknown.

Give her time, she'll be fine.

Yeah. You can be as rational as you want, and you can expect that people will act rationally, but it's best to also prepare for irrationality.

See, even surprises have their own scientific school of study.

[ He's grinning. Just a little. ]

Is there a preferred scientific method for learning somebody's name?

I study it, yeah.

What field of science is your specialty?

I feel like there's a joke to be made there but I'm not smart enough to make it.

Are you a medical doctor or strictly a scientist?

[ Frankenstein, meet...well, Frankenstein. ]

Sometimes that's easier said than done with these typists.

I wish I had some. Mine still insists on keeping me here despite the fact that I'm hardly doing anything.

What a...unique twist.

[ He's talking about you, more than whatever you were ranting on about. Really.]
