I used to believe in such a thing....I don't know what may have happened to you, but dictating what could be your own demise is never a sound solution towards anything.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion and I surely don't know the whole story, but I say you're in the right. You shouldn't trust someone who is that way nor should you keep them around.

If anythin' you've already showed plenty of mercy by lettin' him live. (This woman would understand plenty about guarding one's own heart.)
