Oh. Oh! [Kade's expression slips from shocked to awed to joyful in a space of just a few seconds.] My User! You... wow, you're really here, huh? Did you see, I got it all done, just like you coded. Got that OS 12 out, left the little present behind, ENCOM security didn't even get anywhere near me till after all that. Did you see?

[Sam really isn't sure how to react, a mirroring smile lighting up his face. His progr--- oh. He... oh wow.]

That was you, man? You totally-- [He laughs lightly.] I saw, man. I saw.

[Yay, his User is happy! Kade grins, eager to tell him more.] Well, I was only doing what you wrote me to do, y'know? Man, that ENCOM system is big, though. Good thing you wrote me to be fast.

Ahh, well, I wasn't quite fast enough for one of their guys, y'know? [He shrugs and rakes his fingers though his hair.] Thought I could take him, he didn't look like much, but man, he was fast. Had me cornered before I could even process it.

[The smile disappears from Sam's face as soon as he hears the explanation; he's been on the Grid long enough to know that being caught by any of those freaks? Not a good idea. It's not like getting caught by the Center City police.]

But you're here. [Furrowing his eyebrows a little.] That means you're okay.

Ohh the backstory that I haven't actually written out yet...

That's the weird part. I thought I'd be derezzed for sure, but he just captured me. Put me in a cell with some other programs. Said I might be useful for... something else.

[He laughs a little, shrugging.]

Never did get to find out what that was gonna be, though. Next thing I knew, I was in someplace called the Free Grid, ported in over there. Guess it worked out okay for me that way.

Yeah, tell me about it. It's weird just seeing two of dad. [Because seriously, while something had obviously been off about CLU from the start, Sam hadn't been able to distinguish him from his dad until CLU spelled it out.

And here I thought the Grid was big. I haven't even seen all of it yet. Lots of places I haven't got into... lots of places I'm not supposed to get into. [That grin says he's going to try, though.]

The User world's even bigger though, huh?

Real big. [Sam hasn't explored the entire Grid himself either, but from what he's seen there's a big city and then a whole bunch of unknown land surrounding it. Then again, Sam hasn't really tasked himself with exploring everywhere either.] But it sure is getting smaller. People can track you almost anywhere. [CREEPY FLYNN LIVES PEOPLE 8(]
