Look, mun, I really think this is a terrible idea. You could not possibly understand my... condition. There is only one person who knows what this is really like, and I have yet to speak to him face to face. I dare to hope I never shall. But what do you think will happen when others discover my secret? They'll experiment on me, if only to understand me, and perhaps possess my gift, too.

Oh, you immortal types really are so adorable when you're young. All that shining idealism and whatnot.

I can tell you from experience the experimentation isn't quite so terrible, really, it's not as if our brains develop any further ability to feel pain beyond what's humanly possible. I know I've developed more of a tolerance after the first few executions and vivisections.

Now, imprisonment, that's what gets to you. Of course, they have laws about that sort of thing now... at least in more developed countries. I could tell you a few horror stories about Kilmainham Gaol or my time in the Russian gulags, but I doubt you need those sorts of things crowding your pretty little head.

I'm sure you'll do... just fine.
