(x-posted ) twilight / i got hecka bored and made a poor decision / voicetesting
[ three guesses who's less than thrilled about being put on the spot like this. ]
You act like I don't know what you're thinking.
[ and that sends a flicker of something across her face. she doesn't want to know, doesn't want to think about - ]
No. You can't just send me away like that, not when things are finally getting - close to normal again. I have a routine, I'm alert, I have a life again. Why do you want to take that away from me? After all of this, how could you even think of tossing me out there to the wolves?
Figuratively.
And it's -
[ she stops. it's not even like he'll be there. ]
You're worse than Charlie.

poor decision, she(?) says... hope it's okay for "him" to show up, totally understand if it's not!
Even if he were to refuse to speak, his mere presence threatens to ruin everything she's worked for—furious is a gross understatement. Then again, from the sounds of it, her Mundane also threatens to ruin everything and he's just as helpless to do anything about that, either.
Mutters:] Magnet for trouble...
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! forgive me if i'm a little shaky!
at first, it's just his voice, and she assumes it's all in her head again. she closes her eyes, lifts her head upward in an attempt to capture it better, and it's only when it registers how close it sounds that it dawns on her to turn.
(strange, after all the time she's spent chasing his memory, his voice, him down, that her first instinct is to cling to what she knows she can get.) ]
Edward -
[ and her first thought is she's too far gone, maybe she deserves to be thrown to those proverbial wolves if she's seeing things. maybe they're all right, maybe it's become too much -
but then there's the low and dulcet tone of his voice, the warmth in her ears, his build and the way his hair falls into his eyes, and she swears, she swears her heart stops then and there. ]
You're here. You came back.
no worries, she's fantastic
I don't know that I came back, as I've never exactly left this place, but yes, I'm here. And now you're here. [He allows himself to give a small, sad smile.]
Why are you here, Bella? What does your Mundane have in store for you? [As if he has any right to ask these questions.]
no subject
he doesn't want to see her. of course he doesn't.
there's something suffocating her. something makes her posture hang limp, loose, wilted all over again. ]
I don't know all the details. [ she tries to force her tone into one more clipped, but achieves only a quiet nervousness. ] Something about Wonderland.
Right now, it could be worse.
