the plot needs to thicken more???
Mun, you and I have had some awesome times.
You have been playing me for what now? Over two years? That is really impressive. We've been through a few games, weathered quite a few events, and had some awesome CR with some amazing people. Some of that CR continues and I really enjoy hanging out with them.
But you know what I don't enjoy?
Plots. Specifically your plots.
Where you go, "Poor Jane, I am so horrible to her. BUT NOT HORRIBLE ENOUGH!!!"
For the love of whatever you consider holy and most dear (probably books, I know you), please stop trying to one-up this other mun in this thread. I know you two are having fun and it's an enjoyable ride for you, BUT YOU'RE NOT THE ONE LIVING IT.
EDIT:
Oh god, now you're going to make me relive all of this and possibly incorporate the Aether from a canon point you have yet to update me to? What did I ever do to you?! Make you watch Cosmos? Make you interested in physics and astronomy all over again and purchase those books by Stephen Hawking? Because I am pretty certain that you enjoyed all that.

And just remember, you're inside her head- which makes everything around you a target. [OH yeah, he's been down this route before.]
no subject
[Oooh, an expert.]
Got any good suggestions?
no subject
Well, aside from providing literally pounding headaches and choosing to go dramatically out of character (Either with Shakespearean or Valley Girl commentary, or in dire cases both at the same time), I find my mundane having a terrible time when I pick a fight with some of the other muses rolling around his head.
Immensely distracting, that.
no subject
[But she ponders.]
She dislikes math. I know tons of it, highly complicated stuff beyond just memorizing planetary facts. I could give her such a headache, making her try to sort all of that out.
no subject
There you are! Start with the máthēma that has letters in it, and go from there. I don't doubt she'll crack in short order; let me know how it goes, will you?
no subject
You could say, but I have my blonde moments too! I don't know how many times I accidentally put cereal in the fridge or something.
[She smiles, thinking of all the new ways that she could give her mun payback.]
Thank you. How do you know Thor? I don't think we've met before. Or maybe we did in another universe.

Well, if he's going to be taken seriously then he'd best start with a demonstration. Par for the course, really.
So without another word, he just dropped to one knee and plunge his hand into the earth below, root around for a moment until he found a suitable chunk of rock, and started pulling.]

[And then kept pulling, nope more pulling, well on the way but not enough, almost there but even more pulling...
There. That should do it.]

[He leapt back down to Jane, his boots leaving craters in the ground as he landed. Crossing his arms, he leaned back against his fresh new monument.]
I am Hercules.
no subject
And stares.
And she might want to close her mouth before a fly goes in.]
How... what...
[Her eyes still widen at the sight of that.]
How did you do that? How did you know that there would be such a huge geological feature under the ground for you to pull? How did you manage to get all of that up there by simply pulling? If you are the Hercules, our legends don't do you justice!
no subject
[Okay, THAT'S the reaction he likes to cause.] I trust you're not thinking of me as some other Hercules, this time? That said, it's pleasant to hear someone claim the legends don't live up to me rather than the other way around.
As to the rest, I'd hardly want to give away my secrets so readily- so let's just leave it as, I'm just that good. [A broad smile goes here, all right.]
Though I will admit, three thousand years of experience certainly helps.
no subject
No, there is only one Hercules, though there are different interpretations of him... or you, I guess. But yes, the legends on earth can be a bit strange. Especially when it came to monsters that heroes fought, like giant scorpions and hydras.
But three thousand years?!
no subject
I daresay the Kevin Sorbo version is my favorite so far; a bit Messianic but it's nowhere near as bad as the one-dimensionalism of practically all the others. Especially the Schwarzenegger one.
As to monstrous creatures, well- if you think the legends were strange, you ought to have tried facing them. Though do you know, I was berated none too long ago for my efforts in that regard? Some professorial fellow was defaming me for 'destroying endangered species to show off'- conveniently ignoring their considerable body counts. [He shook his head.] Some people just cannot be satisfied by anything.
[Still, he'll go ahead and grin at the last comment.] By that reaction, I can trust it doesn't show? I should hate to think the next time I go to face a fearsome monster or dastardly villain, I should need to take a walker along.
no subject
No, I guess they can't. I'm sure there were better ways to capture them or something, but back in your time, you didn't have things like tranquilizers, let alone long-distant guns or places to properly contain them.
[She snickers at that image.]
Good thing. Most people at that age need pills and other medicines too.
no subject
I'd question the desire to capture them in the first place; when a creature has the deadliest poison in all existence running through its veins, why would you WANT to catch that? We speak of horror-spawned monsters loosed on the world in order to bring suffering and barbarism on mankind, not some fancy variant of titmouse! But such are the ways of Science, I would suppose.
[Okay, that gets an amused look.] I can assure, you, Miss Foster, you'll not find me in need of any of your pills. Still, how comes the mundane situation? Is she still schemming her terrible plots?
no subject
[Ah, yes, mortal laws. Hence the reason why Jane made Darcy read the fine print of stuff. She took those classes and loves using legalese against others.]
Just to see how something like that behaves and exists would be interesting enough. That's what I'd guess; I'm more of a stars person.
[/snicker]
Oh, good. But she is in need of some pills herself. Headaches are the best killer of evil plots.
no subject
[ Because you know his plots would be...... Worse. ]
no subject
Oh, like what?
no subject
I would not want to spoil that surprise for you.

no subject
[ Mind his tone, he's getting playful here... ]
no subject
Sure, I never minded spoilers. Bring it.
no subject
He casually comes closer, keeping his smirk up. ]
No. I am not going to tell you anything ahead of time. I want you to experience it at its own pace.
[ He stops at a short distance in front of her, how having to look down a little. His hands pick at one another almost casually. ]
But do you want to know what I really enjoyed recently?
no subject
Yes. Relearning your magic? Finding out that you can do new things in this world?
no subject
No, Jane. While I can enjoy the new opportunities Nautilus gives me, the thing I actually happen to enjoy? Having your trust.
[ And a smirk. ]
Not merely in Nautilus, of course.
no subject
Yeah, yeah. Apparently, you're supposed to be evil and such, but I think that is too simple. For you, at least.
But you do have my trust.
[Hopefully, he won't break it.]
no subject
But you are aware that some would consider you a fool for trusting me.
[ And you know he will... ]
no subject
Thank you.
Well, 'some' is not me. I believe in second chances.
no subject
[ ...the things you would not want Loki to know... ]
no subject
Just don't abuse it.

[ Hint: he's lying. ]
