the plot needs to thicken more???

Mun, you and I have had some awesome times.

You have been playing me for what now? Over two years? That is really impressive. We've been through a few games, weathered quite a few events, and had some awesome CR with some amazing people. Some of that CR continues and I really enjoy hanging out with them.

But you know what I don't enjoy?

Plots. Specifically your plots.

Where you go, "Poor Jane, I am so horrible to her. BUT NOT HORRIBLE ENOUGH!!!"

For the love of whatever you consider holy and most dear (probably books, I know you), please stop trying to one-up this other mun in this thread. I know you two are having fun and it's an enjoyable ride for you, BUT YOU'RE NOT THE ONE LIVING IT.

EDIT:

Oh god, now you're going to make me relive all of this and possibly incorporate the Aether from a canon point you have yet to update me to? What did I ever do to you?! Make you watch Cosmos? Make you interested in physics and astronomy all over again and purchase those books by Stephen Hawking? Because I am pretty certain that you enjoyed all that.

Works so much better when you threaten them, you know.

In which case, what is your worst?

And just remember, you're inside her head- which makes everything around you a target. [OH yeah, he's been down this route before.]
olympic_lion: (Of course I'm wonderful. Just ask me!)

[personal profile] olympic_lion 2014-09-03 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm sure you can do more than that. You ran over one of my dearest friends twice (VERY good flirting technique, that), and you tell me that pouting and saying 'don't wanna!' is all you can do against a mere mundane? Don't you believe it, good lady.

Well, aside from providing literally pounding headaches and choosing to go dramatically out of character (Either with Shakespearean or Valley Girl commentary, or in dire cases both at the same time), I find my mundane having a terrible time when I pick a fight with some of the other muses rolling around his head.

Immensely distracting, that.
olympic_lion: (Reach out and touch someone)

[personal profile] olympic_lion 2014-09-03 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh come now, no need to be so shy; it got his attention, didn't it? Anything less probably wouldn't have; much as I love Thor, he can be woefully dense at times. [Thor, of course, would probably have immense problems hearing that from HIM of all people- but hey, who's going to tell?]

There you are! Start with the máthēma that has letters in it, and go from there. I don't doubt she'll crack in short order; let me know how it goes, will you?

Bah, everyone knows cereal is at its best well-chilled. As you mortals say, "It isn't a bug, it's a feature!" [He let out a hearty chuckle of his own, then-]
olympic_lion: (You do not speak of a lady that way.)

[She didn't know who he was, and whatever he'd said before was apparently completely out of nowhere for her... DAMNIT, DISNEY, he blames you for this!

Well, if he's going to be taken seriously then he'd best start with a demonstration. Par for the course, really.

So without another word, he just dropped to one knee and plunge his hand into the earth below, root around for a moment until he found a suitable chunk of rock, and started pulling.]

[And then kept pulling, nope more pulling, well on the way but not enough, almost there but even more pulling...

There. That should do it.]

[He leapt back down to Jane, his boots leaving craters in the ground as he landed. Crossing his arms, he leaned back against his fresh new monument.]

I am Hercules.

[personal profile] olympic_lion 2014-09-08 02:00 am (UTC)(link)

[Okay, THAT'S the reaction he likes to cause.] I trust you're not thinking of me as some other Hercules, this time? That said, it's pleasant to hear someone claim the legends don't live up to me rather than the other way around.

As to the rest, I'd hardly want to give away my secrets so readily- so let's just leave it as, I'm just that good. [A broad smile goes here, all right.]

Though I will admit, three thousand years of experience certainly helps.

[personal profile] olympic_lion 2014-09-11 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)

I daresay the Kevin Sorbo version is my favorite so far; a bit Messianic but it's nowhere near as bad as the one-dimensionalism of practically all the others. Especially the Schwarzenegger one.

As to monstrous creatures, well- if you think the legends were strange, you ought to have tried facing them. Though do you know, I was berated none too long ago for my efforts in that regard? Some professorial fellow was defaming me for 'destroying endangered species to show off'- conveniently ignoring their considerable body counts. [He shook his head.] Some people just cannot be satisfied by anything.

[Still, he'll go ahead and grin at the last comment.] By that reaction, I can trust it doesn't show? I should hate to think the next time I go to face a fearsome monster or dastardly villain, I should need to take a walker along.

Well, it's hardly the first time people have taken it upon themselves to play the greats; it's all just storytelling, and my main problem is the stories they tell using me- Well, that and I'm apparently public domain, and thus not able to copyright myself. [i.e., no creative control OR royalties. Mortal laws, how you annoy!]

I'd question the desire to capture them in the first place; when a creature has the deadliest poison in all existence running through its veins, why would you WANT to catch that? We speak of horror-spawned monsters loosed on the world in order to bring suffering and barbarism on mankind, not some fancy variant of titmouse! But such are the ways of Science, I would suppose.

[Okay, that gets an amused look.] I can assure, you, Miss Foster, you'll not find me in need of any of your pills. Still, how comes the mundane situation? Is she still schemming her terrible plots?
tricksterofasgard: (Watching you.)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-03 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
I may have to suggest some plots to your mundane, it appears, dearest Jane.

[ Because you know his plots would be...... Worse. ]
tricksterofasgard: (Beat me)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-03 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ He shakes his head ever so slightly, giving her a smirk. ]

I would not want to spoil that surprise for you.
tricksterofasgard: (Search for the answers I knew all along)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-03 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Are you truly that curious to find out what I may have in store for you, Jane?

[ Mind his tone, he's getting playful here... ]
tricksterofasgard: (They're only broken bones)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-03 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
[ Darcy is a harmless child compared to Loki.

He casually comes closer, keeping his smirk up. ]

No. I am not going to tell you anything ahead of time. I want you to experience it at its own pace.

[ He stops at a short distance in front of her, how having to look down a little. His hands pick at one another almost casually. ]

But do you want to know what I really enjoyed recently?
tricksterofasgard: (Now the dark begins to rise)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-07 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He gives a slight chuckle at that, but shakes his head. ]

No, Jane. While I can enjoy the new opportunities Nautilus gives me, the thing I actually happen to enjoy? Having your trust.

[ And a smirk. ]

Not merely in Nautilus, of course.
tricksterofasgard: (I will take your breath away)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-09 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
A surprising amount of insight, my dear Jane.

But you are aware that some would consider you a fool for trusting me.

[ And you know he will... ]
tricksterofasgard: (Take the fall)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-10 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I may be keeping that in mind.

[ ...the things you would not want Loki to know... ]
tricksterofasgard: (He tied his shoelaces!)

[personal profile] tricksterofasgard 2014-09-14 12:16 pm (UTC)(link)
As if I would ever do such a thing!

[ Hint: he's lying. ]
