Avoiding Lannisters...

I would not be comfortable in a "modern" environment, yet I would choose the discomforts of your "modern world" over seeing any of them again. (Her voice is soft, careful, steady. She knows she is in a safe place and she can speak her mind.) Arya and I are the last of the Starks. Even if the consequences of these "games" do not transfer into my world, it would be disheartening to return to my cage.

(The corners of her mouth twitch, humorlessly.)

Birds prefer their freedom; as do wolves.

Modernity does have its own ups, I suppose.

You only have to wait to be able to take a hot shower. Or be able to have a hot meal at the ready for your leisure.

[A shrug.]

You won't need anyone to serve you.

There are no lannisters on the Island. Least I've not heard the name used around there, so you'll have to excuse my ignorance on the matter. [She's heard Sansa say the name before, and she knows from her that one of them's a dwarf, but that's the extent of her knowledge.

As for modern setting, trust me, there's nothing better then hot water for a shower when you need it-also laundry machines. I have two toddlers with me and somehow they make stains just standing still. Having to only throw the clothes into a machine and be done with it just makes for one less headache.
