Canon is the Hobbit, currently homeless, considering the_library
Well yes, the journal is quite nice, and I do appreciate the icons. But I would much prefer to just stay at home. This library place sounds lovely of course, but you know I would miss Bag End horribly so I think it would be better for everyone if I just stayed here, yes?
Besides, with so many Big Folk around... well it would just be so noisy, all of them tramping about. I'd never get any peace and quiet you know. And that's what I want. Peace and quiet. None of those adventures, I'm sure one of the other... lovely people you have up here would enjoy themselves quite a bit more. So just send one of them.

And really, why would you want to make someone chase you?

It is! A whole town full of them! They're clumsy and smelly and they can't even walk in a straight line!

Frankly, I think you're being difficult. A library is far preferable to some of the places you could be sent.

Yes, I am sure there are. But well, it would be nice if she let me stay home, don't you agree?

Yeah, I suppose. [She can sympathize; oh boy, can she sympathize.] I wanted to stay home, too. But I couldn't.

[He sighs, but then smiles, he can't really throw some kind of fit in front of a kid after all] I'm Bilbo, what's your name child?

I think a library is one of the few places were peace and quiet are universal. Even with the Big Folk.
/scream omg a Frodo!
But she, the young lady I mean, seems to think it would do me some good to get out of Bag End and "live a little" which sounds quite ominous to my mind. I can live just fine in my own home, and I would thank her to remember that.
HI THERE
This young lady must be wise beyond her years. It isn't so ominous, though, if you start small.
[watch out, Uncle, he will start planning how to get you slowly out on your adventure, or perhaps, more sneakily prepared for when Gandalf drops by]
Perhaps go on walks that go a little further every day. Have you been to Oatbarton yet? Or Stock?
HULLO OH GOODNESS SQUEE
[Snorts]
No, she is not, she's very disrespectful and keeps planning things behind my back.
[Bilbo doesn't even know about his dear Nephew yet, so he might be rather annoyed to find out about this conspiracy]
Hmph, of course I have, y-- [He sighs, his manners have gone right out the window today] I beg your pardon, I haven't introduced myself yet, my manners are just all over the place today I'm afraid. [Have a handshake, Frodo] Bilbo, Baggins, at your service.
HAVE SOME CONFETTI.
Ahhhh I love confetti!
Wish i had fireworks for you, but oh well
