What's this Persona you're talking about?

They're the beings in charge of the place I'm at, which is called Aather. There are a lot of them.

The world itself isn't too far off from Beacon, in a weird way.

That sounds... kind of interesting, actually. So you're learning to be a kind of Huntress there too?

It is interesting. I've gotten to meet a lot of different people. It's a little weird not being on a team there, though, when everyone else is.

[She shakes her head a little.]

Kind of. Fighting the Darkness there isn't the same as fighting monsters back home. It's not really fighting at all, but it's supposed to work somehow.

That does sound a lot like Beacon. Though, what does it take to get on a team?

It's luck of the draw. I mean, technically all the knights are on Sterling - [She slips the silver key that she's wearing around her neck off and passes it over.] - but we're pretty independent. We get to work with all the teams.

'Games'. Anything from 'here's a locked room, find your way out of it' to 'let's race chariots'. They strengthen the Personae, and that helps fight the Darkness. I've heard that sometimes it attacks directly, but I haven't seen it happen myself.

[She looks over the key and hands it back] Interesting way to put someone on a team. Though I don't know if it's any worse than "first person you see."

That... sounds ridiculous. [Yes, she is amused.]

It works out just as well as "first person you see", I think. I haven't met all of the teams yet, but they each have a different feel to them. Sapphire is fairly serious, Coral is kind of light-hearted, Carnelian and Citrine are...interesting.

...no, it's as ridiculous as it sounds, most of the time. I haven't been around for the really bad games, though. Apparently they're the kind that involve murder or other horrible things.

It sounds less random, at least. And that you'd get people more like each other on the same team.

That's horrible. What kind of monster would do things like that to someone?

It is, I think.

When I say 'interesting', I mean 'here, let's make a toy dragon that's as awesome as possible'. I had Ruby flashbacks.

Sometimes, the Personae. Sometimes, it's the Darkness getting to one of them. Either way, it's not something I'm looking forward to, to put it mildly.

That's the tricky thing. I think that so far, if there was something that could be done, it's already been tried and it failed.

It's certainly possible. I can't say for sure.

There isn't anyone else from Beacon there, much less the team.
