voice testing Disney's Esmeralda
I... [Esmeralda hesitates and pauses, looking around]
What is this place? It's unlike anywhere I have ever seen before - it's not Paris, is it? And definitely not the Court of Miracles. Huh!
[She looks perturbed though] Look, I have to go back. Now. My people need me - I don't have time to play your silly games. Paris burns, and you pull me away to talk of all sorts of nonsense. I have to go back.

[Esmeralda grins a little, though she makes no move to get closer to the stranger. It might be a trick after all.]
Is it yours?

[And he is going to kind of back up.]

[Esmeralda looks Javert up and down.]
Who are you?
no subject
[Javert only gave a disapproving look at Esmeralda.]
Your people come and go as they please and do what they wish...why would they care if Paris burns?

WOW a PHOEBUS!!!
[Esmeralda's obviously not reached the part of the film where she realises that Phoebus is one of the good guys yet]
I suppose this means that you've got Frollo hidden round the corner, ready to arrest me again. [She rolls her eyes] And you say I give low blows.
Yay Esmeralda!
[InuYasha is perched above the woman in a tree. His dog ears twitch slightly as he waits for her reply.
If anyone knows about being an outcast it is the half-demon.]
Re: Yay Esmeralda!
You're not from round there, are you?

No. Never heard of it. Never been. I take it that's where you're from.

You're right about the games being silly.

Say your mun takes you some place, if by some chance you're lucky and she sends you back to your world, it'll be as though you've never left.
I know most of them are like the military-long periods of boredom followed by short, random spurts of all hell breaking loose.
And I wouldn't say 'playing' so much as participating. Calling them games gives the impression that you're allowed to quit or start over. What the mun really means is sending you to a world where either A: it's a chance to start over or B: it's a means of survival against some greater threat. If it's the latter, this makes it even more 'fun' when you have people that would rather stab themselves in the eye than cooperate.
*what, cynical?..course not*

To pull you away from something so important, though... They're rather thoughtless.

[Esmeralda's tone is demanding.]
Look, it's not much I ask, but I have to go back. I can't just... sit around... whilst I know that people are dying because of me.

We're both stuck; though I've been trying to figure out how to fix that.

I suppose it helps that for us time is stopped. Certainly an improvement to know our worlds will be there just as they were when we get back. I would dread to think what the world would do without me.

[Esmeralda teases. She looks around a little in wonder.]
Gods and men all together. Now that I don't believe. I have been told so often that God is only for some men - I cannot imagine such a creature to deign to walk with the likes of me. The church leaders would choke on their communion wine if they thought such a thing!

[A big, talking reindeer is currently sniffing about you for carrots, Esmerelda. Sorry.]
Eventually.

[Esmeralda steps back from the reindeer. Sod the guy -]
What IS that thing? [She's never seen a reindeer before, but she laughs as he sniffles into her hand, and she strokes his nose.]
He's a friendly thing, isn't he?
