Where to start? Wow, there's ... there's so many. Nemeton... In the Celtic religion, they're sacred places, such as...such as temples or special groves. Is that the same kind of Nemeton that you're referring to?

It was a tree which symbolised the world tree I think. It's just a stump now. I think it's connected to the Telluric currents around here cos there's a lot of those. It was empty of energy until a Darach started sacrificing people. Now it's fully empowered again and works like a supernatural beacon. My mum could have gotten sacrificed too if I haven't saved her by fighting against the Darach. But by then the Nemeton was already fully charged. Me and my friends found out the truth too late.

A tree would fit into the grove theory. So far, it seems that a lot of the worlds here are different only in that what we think of as legend is true...

It sounds like you really know about it... are you interested in archaeology, too?

[That question is a bit more personal but the poor boy sounds like he's been through a lot and so, for a few minutes, Daniel would give him a rest. The smile he shoots at him is warmer, too, not excited but friendly.]

I've had to figure things out. I'm a werewolf, I can protect innocents. So that's what I do. I look out for those close to me and tries to keep them safe from harm.

I like dinosaurs and I've seen the Indiana Jones movies. But I don't have a big interested in archeology. I want to become a veterinarian.

That sounds like a tough job. If I had to protect innocent lives at your age, I would definitely want a Banshee and Kitsune on my side.

My job isn't quiet as exciting as Indiana Jones, I'm afraid. [It actually is even a lot more so but that's not something he can tell people.] It involves a lot of time in deserts or jungles and a decent amount of time in lecture halls. But there's really no job I love more.

A veterinarian? Then you...then you love animals, obviously.

I wouldn't have been able to protect people if it wasn't for the help my friends gave me. We're a close gang, a pack. [Smiles]

Okay. But if it's something you enjoy you should keep doing it. That's why I want to become a veterinarian. I'm working for the local vet and I love it.

That's a good step. You look young... still in high school? Already having experience will be an important step.

Yes I'm in high school still. But I feel older because of everything which have happened. I'm a leader now and I need to keep people safe.

That sounds like a heavy burden, even with a pack. I suppose being able to work with animals is a relief, when it gets to be too much.

It's something I have to do. Working with animals is a relief. I haven't got so much time for that with everything nowadays now though.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Scott.

I have a Ph.D in archaeology so, yes, I am a doctor but outside of certain settings, the title isn't very important to me. As for being a professor, many archaeologists give lectures, especially when the class is studying something they're known for.

Oh alright. That sounds OK. My boss doesn't want me to call him Dr. Deaton either.

You're free to call me Doctor Jackson, if you want, but Daniel really is fine. I normally use the title so that the people I'm talking to... interviewing usually, can have confidence that I have a background in this.

[Another smile.] And one day, I suppose I'll be calling you Doctor Scott. [He hadn't given his last name.]

Sounds like a good idea. I mean it would probably help people to feel more secure. That you're talking to.

Dr. McCall... yeah it sounds pretty nice. [Smiles]

Does it? I've always been a fan of museums, of history, so not much changed when I gained the title.

I didn't mean to come off like that. I'm sure you still love it. Otherwise you would probably not do it.

Yeah I guess people think Dr. as in a medical doctor. My mum's a nurse but she doesn't get medical questions when she's off duty.

Oh, no, don't worry, it didn't come off bad at all. It's just not something I think about very often.

A nurse? That's an extremely busy profession.

Yeah. Especially around where I live. She has to help the sheriff out with crimes too.

That's not the usual duties of a nurse. Is it because she's aware of the more supernatural elements of your town? That must make crime hard to combat.
