Chapter 94 (Spoiler warning)

You just disappointed me. You had said that this expression killed you, mun. And I had been soooo excited to put you in a coffin of mine~!

However... You wonder just as much as me what the meaning of this is, don't you?

You must endure, Undertaker. Their time will come.

The meaning of which part, exactly?

Well, yes, that's what I asked...

If you don't mean me crying, you mean Ciel being eaten, right?

Well... of course it's a terrible way to die, but that's the price you pay when you're an amateur dealing with a demon. [not that... she knows he's a demon. canonically. whatever, it's d_m] Of course, a witch like me would have negotiated a much more favorable contract! [no, sieg, probably not]

So does your mundane mean that Ciel's expression killed them, or Sebastian's expression killed them?

Of course! [in a haughty, know-it-all voice] Dealing with demons is a last resort. And it's really not recommended, unless you really have no other choice.

My mundane doesn't think there's any possibility of Ciel dying, and that the people who think he might be dead are stupid. Worst-case scenario, it changes his personality or something.

[waits for him to finish the sentence, and when it doesn't, she blinks in surprise] ...but what?

W-Well... because, you know, sometimes you have to do things that aren't recommended...

Huh? Like what?

Huh?!

By... tickling you or something?! [apparently doesn't know how to tell a joke. to be fair, no one in wolfsschlucht is really a barrel of laughs...]

Um... well... [she mulls this over for a moment, trying to think of exceptionally funny stories she's heard before]

...in a play I read once... the queen's sons confront her Moorish lover after she gives birth to his child. One demands, "Villain, what hast thou done?!" and the man replies, "That which thou canst not undo."

The second son says, "Thou hast undone our mother!" — meaning, of course, that she has given birth to a black child. And the man's reply is —

Aww, I thought it was funny...

[or maybe he's heard it before, titus andronicus isn't that obscure of a play. thinks on this harder!!]

[...yeah she gives up]
...I don't know... what's something that's made you laugh before?

I guess not... none of the books in the library are just for fun. They're all about herbs and spells and things.

[considers] Well, Wolfram fell into cow poop a few times... but that's not really funny unless you're there to see it.
