[ The most Voight does, for the time being, is fold his arms and purse his lips. ]

She likes you and you like her. Fine, I get that. Better you than some pencil-necked bozo.

But... [ This is the part where he takes a step closer and narrows his eyes. ] She ends up hurt 'cause of you? Remember I know, or can know, a bit more about you than you'd like.

[ Hey Severide, remember Casey? Remember that whole fiasco? Now imagine it going down without the luck of saving a drug dealer informant. ]

I'm not the type of guy that goes around hurting people. I've been hurt myself too many times to put people through that.

[cpd]

[ There's a nod and a bit of a descent into silence. When he breaks it, there's only one word that comes out of his mouth. ]

She's safe with me in that respect.

I'm not in the habit of questioning safety at a lieutenant of a rescue squad. Plus, she's pretty damn good at fending for herself too.

I'd say we are. We'll have each other's backs.

Muns worry constantly. I think that's their job.

Mine is just a ball of tenseness. The last episodes were rough.

Like somebody died? I'm lucky in that I don't have canon to worry about but mine does find ways to put the screws to me a lot.

A lot of people died. There were bombs at a hospital. It was bloody.

I know that type of storyline well. I'm a nurse at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. We've had our share of violence unfortunately.

Yeah it's crazy. Luckily the people responsible were found.

That's great. After that, does your mun plan to maybe actually let you relax? It's the weekend after all.

God I hope so.

How is yours screwing around with you?

Apparently I have the same face as some spy or something. She doesn't understand that I just want to live a normal life after everything I've been through.

[youjumpin]

Yeah mine laughs because I share a face with a paramedic, and a werewolf.

I think she's afraid I'm too boring for people to play with because I don't do something cool or have superpowers like that. I really don't care. I just want to sit at home with my pizza and TV. Does that make me boring?

[youjumpin]

Makes you normal in my book. Hell no superheroes or spies in my world. Just putting out fires.

That's a really brave thing for you to do, though. I don't know if I'd have that kind of courage. I'm happy when I get through the day without needing a fix.
