re: gilgamesh, patch 2.2
Well... No.
...I understand you're pleased to see that thing, so happy you don't exactly mind that your guess about him actually being thegentleman hero zombie inspector based on him holding that gunhalbard was wrong. I thought it was a good guess, really... A much better guess than what he actually was, and me having to rub oil on him.
But...
No.
I'm sorry, but I'm not allowing you to use me to rerun the trial over and over in hope of getting a screenshot of me getting excalipoor'd in the face.
I know it won't hurt. It's excalipoor! It wouldn't hurt a mandragora!
The answer's still no!

The answer's still no!

[A female keeper! Welp.]
H-Hello.
no subject
Hello! Nice to meet you! -That's how greetings go, right? I've never been very good at them.
no subject
[A small laugh at the greetings thing.]
It's nice to meet you too. [Especially nice that she doesn't seem as... bow-happy as other females of his kind. Yay!] I don't believe we've met. What is your name?
no subject
[She breaks into a little smile.] Rhela Epocan, late of Ul'dah. And you? I don't see very many of us out and about!
no subject
...terrifying.
...Especially the one at Drybone.
...And Horizon.
...And-
You get the idea.
[Brass blades, man. Awful, awful. And very rude... but Epocan! Her mother is certainly a familiar name.]
My name is Ain. [Since the mothers' name is paramount with males, he's going to mention that first.
sadly, with the females of his clan, the only thing that's really important.]My given name, Miir'a.
We're here. It's just better to avoid crowds and commotion.
no subject
[Ugh, Brass Blades. Rude, the entire lot of them.]
[Her ears visibly perk up at his words. Interest: piqued. You may regret that, Miir'a.]
Ain, is it? I don't think I've met anyone from your clan before. Interesting! Tell me, tell me, how many of you are adventurers, too? Do you prefer to fight or do you like to stay behind and cast spells?
The confrontations, I can do without. Especially when they involve golems and mysterious voices.

N-no. My sisters and I came to Eorzea from the motherland when we became old enough to leave our community. My mother, herself, has never set foot here. My sisters were archers. I was never very good at it, or climbing. Or scouting. Or hunting. Or... anything physical, really. So I took up magic, to try to be useful to them once they learned to string their own bows.
[But wait.]
...Golems? And a masked man?
no subject
Hmm. My sister and brothers were better with spears and arrows than me. But I always punched the hardest out of us all. So it just seemed like it- well, it's what I'm meant to do. You know?
Yeah! He was like this! [What follows is probably Rhela's best attempt at looking like an Ascian in a robe. It... mostly just involves a frowny face and putting a hand over the top half of her face.]
no subject
...Have you also met a man, Thancred? From Sharlayan.
no subject
[Wow, Eorzea sure is is small! What are the odds? Rhela practically bounces on the heels of her feet.] Well now we have to be friends! We have friends in common!
sorry for the late response 2.2 happened and I've only just torn myself away ;o;
Mir nods, gingerly, his eyes trailing off someplace else. Her association with Thancred means she's probably a member of the Waking Sands... or soon to be one. Her knowledge of the Ascians means hardship's to come, and she seems like she doesn't deserve an ilm of it.]
....
[It's not his place to tell her, so he merely nods.]
Yes... let's.
no problem, no problem! i got consumed in playing, too. new stuff! :o
[Rhela's bright little smile doesn't fade even when she reaches out to take one of Mir's hands in hers. But her tone is surprisingly gentle.]
It's going to be all right. The Twelve have a way of setting things right in the end. So don't make a face like that. Okay?
:3
..............ofck. N-no. He's not going to sntach them away, but he can't help his ears from flattening.
This is not comfortable.]
U-um. Okay.
[And after he's composed himself...]
I suppose I can tell you. I have been to Horizon. I am part of the Waking Sands, and have since been moved to the Rising Stones in Mor Dhona. ...Thancred and his associates take an interest in only a few people, with gifts. I expect you know what I'm speaking of. I expect we'll work together at some point.
...But until then, please stay away from the hooded man.
admittedly i havent played xiv but here i am anyway
Where is he?? Let me at him!
yay!
. . .
Um. Hello.
... Apparently, he's on the big bridge in Coerthas, in my world. Apparently, he's travelling the world... and stealing weapons, looking for a "blade of legend." Someone I know received a challenge from him...
But this person hasn't got anything close to the strongest sword. He's a jeweller. ...Um, inspector. Um, hero. ...No, not a hero. Um, zombie. Um...
I think your doppelganger's confused.
no subject
WHAAAAAAT?!
Someone's out to get my prize? No way! I won't allow it! First he steals my name, then this joker tries to steal my sword too?
This is the last straw! Me and you, we're gonna go take him down!
[GILGAMESH has joined the party.
You have no say in the matter. Apparently.]
1/?
WAIT. NO.]
2/?
If what he's going to be fighting is powerful, this guy must be as well.]
3/3
... All right. Though we'll need to formulate a strategy. Just running in...
will probably end up with us both being hurled off that bridge and being attacked by what's at the bottom. If he's copying you... he'll have your weakness. What is it?
no subject
[He puts a hand to his chin, thoughtfully.]
Well...[Another moment of pause as he thinks.] I'm not too good at math.
[At least it's good to know the guy's not too bright on top of being so powerful. He'd be even more of a threat then.]
omg sorry for the late response but the gilgamesh storyline was AMAZING I shall include links!!
/fags 5va]
[.......There's... another pause. A big one. At... something like that, it's apparent that Mir's thinking exactly that. But... fighting a liability... with a liability?
Sounds disastrous.
But. There's something about this person which is likable. So, Mir nods.]
Well... you certainly look like a warrior. If it is well with you, I'll stick to the back row.
im crying he's so perfectly ic the whole time. his fucking escape omg
So what does that make you, a mage or somethin'? Those guys are usually pretty squishy.
he's so wonderful! hey, i can up the cutscenes / storyline to youtube if you like, nooneelse has yet
If he's impersonating you, would it be better to use another fighting style? It might surprise him, and you will likely know your own fighting style well enough to anticipate his attacks.
I am a mage, yes. The back lines are my speciality.

...Unfortunately, she keeps repeating the trial hoping for a Toad capture now.
...I never dreamed I would live to fight a rooster, even if painted green...
no subject
...That sounds beyond absurd, and I pray that you escape her whims, even if only for a short while.
no subject
N-no.]
I would recommend staying away from Griffin Crossing in Coerthas. ...But thank you.
no subject
I avoid Coerthas in general, but that is good to know. [someone's clearly bitter over the entire adventure in Coerthas. also the way he dresses, he'd freeze his ass off there now.]
because this is relevant to his interests
no subject
The Toad thing?
Are all people from your world so flamboyant? He doesn't seem like an evil man. In a sense, I understand claiming weapons from your defeated enemies. But... he's so very loud...
no subject
[shaking his head] There's… some styles that are kind of out there, but Gilgamesh is… something else. He's definitely not a bad person, though. [as far as Bartz is concerned, Gilgamesh's meter ticked towards friendly during the encounter in Exdeath's castle, and their next meeting pretty much solidified that.]
no subject
[Surely incapacitated by having their lungs give out is better in the long run than that.]
...Nevermind. You got it off a frog?! It's a disease?
[And he thought he knew all about diseases. Still...]
He... is not a bad person. I hope that he managed to survive that fall. He- He leaped off an enormous bridge in our world, holding a green roster he named Enkidu's legs after he was defeated in an attempt to escape.
...Needless to say, flight was unsustainable.
no subject
[wait, what]
Wha- no, no, not like that! Exactly. That would've been a lot harder to deal with if we'd been unprepared. [although there would've been the inn.] No, it was- we uncovered a well, and the frog hopped out, and the spell was left behind it.
[he winces]
That doesn't sound good. But he's a pretty resilient guy! I'm sure he's fine.
I wonder… I'm not sure the Enkidu we saw would've been able to carry him, either. He was bigger, but…
