voice testing a new muse (canon is demon city shinjuku / makai ishi mephisto)
I am hardly "shy", mundane. Not wishing to speak to one the same as myself is personal preference, as one learns very little from mirror images.
I suggest that instead of wishing me into social pursuits that have no merit, you instead take the time to decide whether I am a good fit for you or not. Voice testing, as you call it. Figuring out our standing before leaping is always a good idea. Don't rush.
Yes, I'll allow you to look at some 'memes' though I ask that you avoid any unsavory ones.
... 'Games' should be avoided for now. Though you seem to potentially have one in your sights already.
And no, I do not find my username 'cute'.
... Better.

This is going to go downhill real fast. ><;
I don't think that just because you've met another vampire means that they're a complete copy of you. They probably have their own personal histories that are different than yours, even if they have a few things in common!
[And Tohko was probably misinterpreting things again. She really did have to learn to stop making weird assumptions someday.]
And I think all social pursuits have some merit, even if they're painful sometimes, and even if you don't always like them. After all, you might learn something because of it during or after the fact, and you might gain a new friend!
[Because this guy really looked like the sociable type.]
And I don't know if your username is ill-fitted or not..but if your mun does decide to sent you to a game, I hope you both do well there! Hopefully she won't send you to one with too much horror.

I've little interest in friends, and we'll have to agree to disagree, that all social pursuits have merit.
[He's totally sociable. He's a doctor, he sees people. It counts. Shush.]
Oh? I do believe I'd be a good fit in a place of horror. And I find that it's in those places people such as myself are of most use.
no subject
Really?! What are you then? A demon, maybe? Or something else? And if you want to agree to disagree, that's fine..but why do you disagree?
[She was holding off on asking why he wasn't interested in friends-at least, for the moment. After all, if he was a demon, having friends might not be something he was used to or even looked at the same way humans did.]
And you might be a good fit in a horror story! I can see you walking down shady alleyways at night dressed in fine clothes and using a silver cane to kill anyone who dared to cross your path or annoy you! But horror games are different. Even if you were a terrible person in your own world, there are usually people far worse in horror games that can really hurt you. Even villains can be hurt badly by other people.

[Never mind that he's called the Demon Physician and all. It's not relevant to the conversation. Well. To him it isn't, anyway.]
Is it not an opinion I am allowed to have without explaining myself? [He would be amused... Except her little speech there gains an irritated little twitch of an eyebrow.]
I'd certainly be the villain of your story, I see.
no subject
Oh, really?! I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions and calling you a vampire and a demon then! And you're allowed to have your own opinions. I'm just curious as to why you hold them, that's all! If you don't want to tell me, that's fine too!
[But then she'll want to know why he wouldn't want to tell her and keep bugging him with questions. While Tohko wasn't a bad person, she could be too inquisitive and pushy sometimes. Here though, Tohko would smile a little.]
And you wouldn't be the villain of my story. I don't really have any villains of sort..just a whole bunch of delicious books that are tied to mysteries, misunderstandings, and eccentric people. So you're not the villain of my story.

He offers a tight-lipped smile.] Curiosity is fine, though I'd suggest to be cautious about asking too many questions of a stranger. You never know who you might be dealing with, miss.
[He tilts his head.]
I see. [That's all he's going to say on the matter.]
no subject
And she would just return his tight smile with a larger, warmer one of hers. Sure, he was probably a terrifying villain in his own world, but he was being rather polite for the moment.]
Well, that's why I'm asking so many questions! I don't know who I'm dealing with, so I want to find out more about you, and the only way to do that is to talk with you and ask lots of questions! Though, with that said, we should probably introduce ourselves. I'm Tohko Amano, the book girl.
no subject
[That may have been a joke, but his countenance betrays nothing of the sort.]
It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, miss Amano. I'm Doctor Mephisto.
[Who even knows if he has a last name. If he does, he's not giving it at least.]
no subject
Well, I'm not asking or expecting you to tell me everything about your story all at once! And it's nice to meet you too, Doctor. Hopefully you're not a Mephistopheles that managed to take over Faust's life!
[And that last part, while spoken with a smile and a cheery voice, was not a joke.]
editting in a subject here, because I just gotta say; Mephisto you are a jerk face pfff
[He's a little amused. He might have brushed it off, but he's been asked something along the lines of 'are you the real one' before, so he can't help but find some humor in it.]
Demons are hardly known for their honesty after all.
He is, but that's why he's so enjoyable. :3
CANONLY HE IS... Mine's... Not so good.
I do hope you won't be left sleepless if I don't present you with an answer. As a doctor that would concern me.
Oh? How so?
Seeing a small opening for an answer, Tohko nodded, though the grin on her face probably destroyed any believability her words held.]
I might be! This is the sort of question that could change how a person looks at another, so I wouldn't let it alone until I had an answer! Even in my dreams, I'd think about it!
[..Tohko, that's a gigantic stretch.]
I AM NOT SMART ENOUGH TO PLAY HIM properly tbh
[... Yeah she's... Probably not going to get an answer.]
Blegh..I'm sorry to hear that! It's always terrible when that happens. ><;
yeahh, playing him is fun though, so... I'll just do my best, I guess |:
Well..that is what this hobby is about. As long as you do your best and-

[He was under the impression that most living things prefer getting things their way. Why should he be any different?]

[In other words, he enjoys pulling strings.]
However sometimes it's better to reconsider your approach.

I think the username has a nice ring to it.

It would seem that's a popular opinion. I've no feelings either way, I just don't find it to be 'cute'.

[He shrugs.]
It's ridiculous, if anything.
