(no subject)

I have no regrets.

If that is our fate, then let us meet it. As for the rest, you can do what you will with it. It doesn't matter now.

You're askin' that to a guy who's been ta heaven an' hell? I think that that things can run in a kinda cycle.

Just 'cause you think something's over don't mean it really is.

There's always hope.

[He stumbles a little at the clap, wow, Thor just gave him a back pat, what an honor.]

They tend to have a rather low concept of 'forever' in the best of times, alas; I'd say their notion of it is equivalent to, say, forty years at this point.

Of course, when you look at where they were forty years ago it's none too difficult to see their point.

Even when it's them who help tear it down?

Still, I daresay you're right to an extent; it's all we can do to build as well as we may, and hope it lasts long enough.

Helps to be around long enough to see the result, of course.

Fight fate. Fate is not set in stone; it can be changed and rewritten more easily than you know. Life is a series of twists and turns that can lead in a lot of directions, otherwise the concept of alternate universes wouldn't exist.

I've never known you to be the type to give up, regardless.

It's an alternate universe thing. In one universe, we know each other; but in most, the basic things that make someone their self are still there. If you run into Tony Stark here, ask him about it; he has a good grasp on how alternate universes work due to his forays into interdimensional science.

One of the things you taught me was to always do what's right. Is sitting back and accepting this version of fate the right thing to do?

Tony knows things like Fixed Point Event Ratios and Commonality Division Theory. He could do a course in it if he wanted to. But I digress.

And how exactly will your journey ending help anything? [Yep, he was definitely a Thor - completely convinced he was in the right.]

He's not the one I'm related to.

Given the suicide rate at my place of employment, I've heard that sentiment before. Rarely does it lead to anything good. At the best it ends up with someone quitting their job and ending up a washed out shut in somewhere in the middle of nowhere. If anything, I'll probably go out before my time has come. That's how life and my mun work.

☠☠☠☠! You're giving up?

You. Of all the big guys.
hisnameisthecaptain: (facepalm)

[personal profile] hisnameisthecaptain 2014-03-05 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Then what hope is there for the rest of us if even one of the ☠☠☠☠ Avengers can't fight fate?

Yeah, you know, the elitist ☠☠☠☠ who think they're the best out there.
