I have no regrets.
If that is our fate, then let us meet it. As for the rest, you can do what you will with it. It doesn't matter now.

Really. I think it is a fitting tone for the moment.

That, I fear, won't happen for some time.

The end has been decided for me.

Do you believe that anything can last forever?

Just 'cause you think something's over don't mean it really is.

You have faith in heaven?

Good. As long as there is faith, there is hope for us.

[He stumbles a little at the clap, wow, Thor just gave him a back pat, what an honor.]

Of course, when you look at where they were forty years ago it's none too difficult to see their point.

Nothing lasts, as much as we wish it to. The best that we can hope for is to finish what we've started without regret.
But I do not blame them for wishing it could last longer.

Still, I daresay you're right to an extent; it's all we can do to build as well as we may, and hope it lasts long enough.
Helps to be around long enough to see the result, of course.

People destroy what they create. That's not really a secret. Why would I want to stick around to watch it crumble?
[He's a sore loser.]

I've never known you to be the type to give up, regardless.

One of the things you taught me was to always do what's right. Is sitting back and accepting this version of fate the right thing to do?
no subject
If you know me, then you should already know I don't run from my fate. Nor do I plan on putting myself before the well-being of others. If ending our journey is what they require, then I will accept that. There's nothing to be won here.
no subject
And how exactly will your journey ending help anything? [Yep, he was definitely a Thor - completely convinced he was in the right.]

The end of one journey is the beginning of another. It does no good to linger when your time has come. One day you might understand that.

Given the suicide rate at my place of employment, I've heard that sentiment before. Rarely does it lead to anything good. At the best it ends up with someone quitting their job and ending up a washed out shut in somewhere in the middle of nowhere. If anything, I'll probably go out before my time has come. That's how life and my mun work.

You. Of all the big guys.

No matter what happens, there are always those who will continue on. That, too, is part of fate.
