on possible thoughts about apping to [community profile] havenrpg; canon is The Stanley Parable

Well, now, you just can't get me out of your mind, can you? "Oh," you said, like the naive little mundane you are. "Why not toy with him a little, just for fun?" But then you realized how much you can't stop thinking about me, about how much you want me to use my full potential as the narrator I am. You do realize, how ironic this is? You thought you were narrating for me, playing with my "voice"...but in reality, it was the other way around. I am the Narrator. Just because I can't control that mindless little drone named Stanley doesn't mean I can't control you, hmmm...

[A pause.]

But really, any place would be better than being stuck up here, having to listen to your dreary old monologues every day. I'm the more proficient one of us when it comes to this sort of thing. So, instead of you saying "oh, I want to app you", how about, "I want you to submit an application for me". No, I don't care how busy you are, or how many other characters you already have there...what do they matter? You know what you want. You know what I want.

And I will get what I deserve by all means necessary.

["Mindless little drone" wow somebody's bitter...

But at least you don't have Stanley here "complaining" about this idea of yours for once? (Considering that might mean you would be someone else's problem instead of ours for a little while...well, provided that his player doesn't suddenly get any strange ideas or something, that is.)]

[If it makes you feel any better, he doesn't really get what would motivate someone like his player to make a journal for someone like him either. Apparently the universe is just completely incapable of leaving Stanley alone to have a "normal" life.

Unfortunately, the game designers didn't put a voice for us in the game, so technically-speaking we can't really "beg" for you to stay even if we wanted to, can we? Though judging by the look he's giving you now, the answer is probably "no"...

(His player, however, is fond of you for some absurd reason, which is probably the only reason he's even found himself here to begin with.)]

[...In his defense, that broom closet was kind of interesting, if only because of the entertainment gained from listening to you getting annoyed about it. If you had just ignored him right from the start when he decided to check it out, maybe he would have gotten bored and left sooner than he did.

Although, it did give the Narrator a chance to come up with some pretty creative insults about him, so it's hard to say whether or not Stanley "beat" the Narrator at his own game by wasting time hanging around in that closet.]

You can't control your mundane. Sure, you have the right idea in being annoyed enough to finally do something, but we're still just characters. You in a game and me in a webcomic.

My name's Petitus. I come from a webcomic without a fourth wall. My mundane's told me all about the game you're in.
