Alright, I've had a lot of time on my hands.

And I still don't get the purpose of that damned outfit.

What's the functional benefit of a suit made of some kind of spandex and thigh-high boots? Who the hell makes that? Why would I wear it? Is there some kind of tactical advantage? Anything?

I can't think of a single use that wouldn't be better filled by something else.

So why would I have it?

Well, it certainly looks regal, even if it doesn't look like it offers much protection. Maybe it's a matter of prestige.

Mm, but sometimes that's all you need. The clothes you wear can carry a lot of meanings. Maybe it's all about the effect they have on people.

For example, you could see someone dressed like a police officer... if you were a criminal, you'd be wary just by seeing the uniform, even if you didn't know if he was a good shot or even armed, right?

Well, I wouldn't know either. I'm only a traveller. My coat marks me as one, but its meaning is only clear to other travellers from the country it came from.

... I suppose it depends on the place and what message is linked to the suit.

But you're not immortal, so you shouldn't be overconfident, unless your insides can also outrun a poisoned meal or anything else they might throw at you. If you don't know what the suit means, take extra care— it might spell trouble.
