Mary Morstan never intended to kill me. She is an expert marksman, and the shot to my chest was clearly not a kill shot. Had she intended to kill me, her shot would have been a fatal blow to the head, and she would not have called for help. But if you would prefer, I could explain that in any number of ways until you understand that your feelings of dislike towards her are unjustified.
Honestly, I don't understand your displeasure. You should be pleased with how she turned out - clever, dangerous, intelligent. It shouldn't be surprising why John married her, and continues to stay with her.
As for our so-called final goodbye... John knows how I feel about him. No sense in 'beating a dead horse,' as the idiotic phrase goes. I do not yet have enough information about Moriarty's return to yet make valid deductions, as you are well aware. I witnessed him shoot himself in the head, and even an idiot knows there is no coming back from that. A clip of Moriarty on the telly could easily have been recorded prior to his death. That everyone is panicking and my brother called me back after a mere four minutes proves Moriarty's trick had its proper effect.
They really should have known better than to attempt to send Sherlock Holmes on a suicide mission.

I haven't seen you in ages. Hello!
One, I'm surprised you've never suggested that I was basically marrying the female you. But then again, it's entirely possible that the thought never crossed your mind. You carried on a long enough relationship that you were going to propose without ever laying a hand on her.
Two, I'm surprised you weren't the one behind the Moriarty trick.
Yeah I haven't been around much, Hi!
Well, I'm sure you'll be surprised yet again when I admit that yes, I didn't initially deduce just what, exactly, Mary was upon our first meeting. I knew she was clever, much more clever than the usual women you had dated, and that she was lying, but about what, I wasn't sure.
I had to be just affectionate enough with Janine that she wouldn't catch on, of course.
Why would I do something like that? Just to get my brother to come to his senses and send me back? [He shrugs a shoulder lightly.] Clever, but no, John. I was resigned to my fate.
Sherlock gotten a bit loud on you?
I'm talking about after you knew.
Although I definitely don't want to know how affectionate affectionate really is. There is some things my mind is not prepared to cope with and that is definitely one of them.
You were...resigned to your fate? You don't happen to have a fever, do you? Hallucinations?
Something like that, yeah!
I understood why you married her, John. You wouldn't be happy with just any ordinary woman.
We were "waiting for marriage."
[His expression softens here.] I had killed a man for Mary - for you, John. Even Sherlock Holmes cannot escape some sort of punishment for that.
Just believing I was being sent on that mission was a bit... unsettling, I'll admit.
Well, John is always at your disposal if you want to do something.
I am always up for doing something. :D
Just point me and I'll be there.
I am open to anything and everything. Memes, PSLs, you name it.
He in anything at the moment?
No games, nope.
I meant memes. <.<

And thanks for saying all that, Sherlock [Because compliments from Sherlock Holmes aren't exactly something that happens too often]

John won't leave you, Mary. I never truly thought he would, not after he'd chosen you.
I only speak the truth. Whether or not everyone believes it determines just how much of an idiot they really are.

[She'll smile a little at that] Yeah? Well you could have told me that. I was starting to think he didn't want anything more to do with me.
I can handle what people think. I think deep down my own mun is disappointed with me too. But none of us can change the past.
...So you don't think Moriarty is actually back then? Do you think it was a recording from when he was alive?

I brought you two to the horror of a Holmes family Christmas, didn't I? It's not my fault John was so stubborn before that.
[He shrugs a shoulder casually.] It makes you interesting, Mary. John thinks so too, obviously. He wouldn't have married some ordinary, boring woman.
I haven't made any final deductions yet. As I said, I need to see more. Unfortunately, I'm aware this will be a long time coming.

Answer the question, Sherlock.

Even Sherlock Holmes could not escape some form of punishment for murder.

Last I checked, Sherrrrlock... [ yawn. ] Most people don't come back from jumping off a building and being buried, blah blahhh blahhhh. [ a heavy sigh, like he's literally the single most tired individual of all time, ever, in any universe, at any time. ] Come on. Do us both a favour and don't pretend you're not desperate to believe I'm not just lurking around any corner. Don't you ever get sick of lying to yourself?

I suppose I should be a bit grateful to you for causing my brother to bring me back from what would be a suicide mission. But I am far from convinced that this is, in fact, the real Moriarty. There are a number of possibilities, many stemming from the fact that it would only be too easy to distort a pre-recorded video of you, prior to your death.
Of course, if it is you, I was clever enough to surprise you before. I won that round, after all.
hello I hope you don't mind me *tagging you forever*
Is that what you call winning? [ he's not impressed. ] Must make your whole consultant thing so much more entertaining than I thought it was. Every litle case being solved with a big death and "not dead" reveal? Thought I'd've heard about those.
So. [ a little cock of the head, and he stares at Sherlock for a few moments. ] Go on, then. Let's hear your possibilities, then, Sherlock. I'm dying to know.

What's concerning is that he would have known to make a prerecorded message such as that.
