Well, the fact that it took magic out of our hides far more than happens at home didn't help either.

And "a few monsters" is a bit of an understatement. I really didn't enjoy trying to walk across town because she demanded someone else be there - though she was just as capable of taking care of herself as I was at the time.

It was this very peculiar town. It was a bit of a mess, but the homes they had us lodged in were lovely! There were these fantastic ice boxes that stored food for so long--even food that'd normally spoil right away!
