There are breaks and then there are breaks. And what this mun has in mind is no vacation.

I have no idea. But etiquette does not seem to be part of the curriculum.

If it isn't, it should be. Communication! That's the key to education.

What kind of education do these muns get? How is anyone supposed to improve their minds if they do not listen?

Well, they could be self-taught. Reading enough books improves pretty much anyone's mind.

Reading books is an excellent start, but there must be more. Experience and communication! That's the key to a good education!

I'm pretty sure the muns consider this to be experience.

[Communication she's less sure about. Yeah, her and the mun have a certain understanding, but that doesn't mean that she listens to Dairine's complaints. ~~Nor does Dair listen to her mun's advice.~~]

Madam, I have an education to oversee. There is no time for gallivanting in that.

Oh, but one must realize that a little gallivanting about now and then is good for the spirit! Exposing yourself to a wealth of new experiences and whatnot.

Oh, yes. Yes. Obviously. But the thing is, the most important thing, is that there'e no point in running about after adventures when I have other things to do. By George, it is rude of these muns!

[ The Doctor extracts a plain white bag and pops something from it into his mouth. ]

Think of it as a rare opportunity - are these muns a little trifling and annoying? ...Well, yes, of course they are! But this should be considered as nothing more than an interesting diversion for both us and them, there's plenty of time for work after all.

[ He's a little caught up, but after a small beat at the end of his response, he offers the bag to Merlin. ]

Do you know that there is not a single piece of decent candy in the Dark Ages? Its almost as bad as the complete lack of indoor plumbing!

[ He's in complete jubilation as the bag goes back into one of his many pockets. ]

Mind you, I have the utmost respect for the Dark Ages but the lack of modern conveniences makes traveling with my Companions through that era extremely difficult. They are absolutely essential to the fabric of modern history!
