Okay, so, first, obviously, thank you for creating me. And for breaking me out this morning even though you're worried about whether or not your mother will approve of the turkey. (Who really makes a backup turkey? Really?)

But I have to say, I don't really know what I'm doing. I still haven't entirely learned the ins and outs of living in Chicago yet. It's only been eight months! Plus you gave my brother an icon, so I can only assume that means he's going to be around to give his two cents, and people tend to be afraid of him. So, please don't be upset if this doesn't go well at first.

I am kinda looking forward to meeting all the people, though. I mean, there are superheroes and aliens and all that? How exciting is that? So this'll be fun. Just probably a bit awkward and crazy.

Perhaps eventually. But making the selection is the difficult part, especially as ultimately the choice is out of my hands, isn't it?

I dunno. Like I asked for something the other day and I got it.

There was somebody I wanted to talk to again, and he actually replied to me.

[And then other stuff happened, but Tessanne is not discussing that part of it.]

Ah, but that is not a matter that was strictly in either your or your mundane's control. A direct request to them will likely not be answered unless it already follows their own wishes.

It could if they have a... Sense of humour of a particular sort.

[That'd be him being too nice to say 'if they're an asshole.']

You've got to be optimistic, though! You can't go through life expecting the worst all the time.

I prefer to be prepared for the worst, even if it is not a certain outcome. It is much safer.

Sometimes that makes it worse though.

It's best to be aware of the way things can go wrong, at the least.

I don't know. I always hope for the best.

Hope is a fine thing, Miss Tessanne. But I find hope works best when joined by careful planning.

Oh, you're talking to the wrong person for that. Impulsive is probably my other middle name. Other than Louise.

[After a quiet pause, the very edges of his lips curl up. It's a tiny smile, but it hangs around for a bit.]

I know a few like that. I imagine it's a nice way to live.

[Daddy's impulsive easy going attitude has been inherited by many of his siblings and in his line of work he meets a lot of impulsive people. Good thing he likes taking care of those types.]

It is. It's not always that way, but generally it is.
